Paintings made from green moss carpets are a unique trend that has recently appeared in Ha Long City and also shows the unlimited creativity of art on different materials. Moss paintings carry the beauty of nature and the meticulousness and ingenuity of humans, conveying the message of harmony between humans and nature.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hau, a person with many years of experience creating artistic moss paintings, owner of Vivaria Coffee Shop (Ha Long City) is the one who had the idea of bringing the moss painting workshop to Ha Long in her own cafe space filled with green trees.
Ms. Hau shared: Moss Art (artistic moss painting) has only appeared in Vietnam for about 5 years and has developed strongly in the Southern region. After many years of being attached to this art form, I want to bring moss painting to Ha Long, so that nature lovers have the opportunity to experience, create moss paintings themselves and spread the green living mindset.
Normally, moss art paintings will be divided into two types: Minimalist moss paintings and modified moss paintings. With minimalist moss paintings, the characteristic of the painting is that it only uses very few materials, almost the entire area of the painting will be filled with moss clumps. With modified moss paintings, moss will be combined with driftwood, rocks, sand, gravel, green trees... to create a moss painting.

The steps to make moss paintings usually go through 3 main stages: Moss processing, idea generation, layout and arrangement, adjustment. The main indispensable material to make moss paintings is fresh moss. In addition, there is preserved moss - fresh moss that has undergone a treatment process to put the moss into a "hibernation" state, stopping the growth of plant cells. Therefore, preserved moss paintings do not require any care but still maintain their humidity, color and freshness for a long time, sometimes lasting 5-7 years depending on weather conditions...
After being processed, the moss will be put into the frame to arrange and shape, creating a very vivid picture, bringing a feeling of relaxation and peace. All stages are done completely by hand, meticulously in every detail. With fresh moss paintings, you will have to spray moisture every day, but with preserved moss paintings, on the contrary, you must keep them dry and avoid mold.

What is special is that each moss painting is a unique work with unique beauty, containing spontaneity, freedom and bearing the aesthetic mark of the individual who created it.
After experiencing the moss painting workshop, Cao Yen Nga (Uong Bi City) shared: I am a person who loves nature very much, so I am quite interested in moss paintings. The moss painting I created has a composition with the blue of the sea, the green of the forest, bringing a rather wild and peaceful beauty. The process of experiencing moss painting made me feel like I was bringing a miniature natural space into the paintings.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang, Gieng Day Ward (Ha Long City) expressed: Before participating in the workshop, I learned about the art of moss painting, I found it very attractive. These works of art with fresh green patches are very suitable for decorating living spaces. I think this art form will be increasingly welcomed by everyone because of the trend of bringing nature into our homes.

In addition to moss paintings, depending on each person's creativity and aesthetics, we can also create unique and creative decorative moss walls that suit the style of each house, bringing a fresh natural beauty to the living space.
With its lush, soft, vibrant beauty, moss paintings are a way to connect with nature, creating a green, artistic living space, bringing a sense of peace and relaxation. The wonderful blend of art and nature, creativity and ingenuity in moss paintings has become a unique highlight in modern living spaces, awakening the emotions and aesthetics of each person.
