The Vinh Long men's volleyball team secured their third victory.

On the afternoon of May 28th, the qualifying rounds of the 2026 National A-League Volleyball Championship continued with four matches in Group A for men and Group C for women.

The Vinh Long men's volleyball team secured their place in the finals one round before the end of the tournament.

Among the matches, the one that attracted the most attention was the clash between Vinh Long and Tay Ninh in Group A of the men's competition. With many advantages in terms of professional skill and experience, Coach Le Van Trieu's Vinh Long team secured a quick 3-0 victory. The scores of Vinh Long's winning sets against Tay Ninh were 25/10, 25/18, and 25/23 respectively.

This is the third victory for the Vinh Long men's volleyball team this season; and they have officially secured a place in the finals. Previously, the team had two wins with the same score of 3-0 against the Ho Chi Minh City Youth team (May 18th) and the Army Sports Center team (May 20th). In addition, the Vinh Long team suffered two losses: a 2-3 defeat against the Da Nang Youth team (May 22nd) and a 1-3 defeat against the Military Region 3 team (May 26th).

Currently, the Vinh Long team has one more match before concluding the group stage against the Border Guard Youth team. This match is scheduled to take place at 12:00 PM on May 30th. In terms of significance, this match will determine the ranking of the Vinh Long team along with the other three teams in Group A men's competition to qualify for the promotion finals.

In the women's competition, the Vinh Long team also had 2 wins and 2 losses. The two wins were against Hanoi Youth with a score of 3-0 (May 17th) and against Phu Tho with a score of 3-2 (May 27th). Meanwhile, the two losses for Coach Mai Van Dieu's team were against the Information Corps Youth with a score of 1-3 (May 19th) and against Ho Chi Minh City with a score of 0-3 (May 23rd).

The Vinh Long women's team still has one match left to play against Thai Nguyen. This match is scheduled to take place at 4 PM on May 30th.

With this result, the Vinh Long women's team is almost certain to secure a spot in the finals. However, the specific ranking will only be determined after the final round of matches takes place on the evening of May 30th.

The group stage of the 2026 National A-League Volleyball Championship will take place in Dien Bien from May 16th to 30th.

This year's tournament features 13 men's and 11 women's teams from across the country, divided into 4 groups: Group A (men): Da Nang Youth, Border Guard Youth, Army Sports Center, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City Youth, Military Region 3, Vinh Long. Group B (men): Ha Tinh, Mobile Police Command, Dong Nai, Phu Tho Police, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Binh Youth.

Women's Group C: Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Hanoi, Signal Corps Youth, Vinh Long. Women's Group D: Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh Youth, Hai Phong, Dak Lak. In each men's and women's category, teams compete in a single round-robin format to select 8 men's teams and 8 women's teams for the finals, determining the teams that will qualify to play in the 2027 National Volleyball Championship.
