According to Lieutenant Colonel Bui Anh Minh, Political Commissar of Regiment 2, in recent times, the Party Committee and command of the Regiment have always focused on comprehensively implementing the content and forms of political education and ideological guidance for soldiers, especially new recruits, with many appropriate and creative policies and measures. Through this, they have closely monitored and managed the ideological developments of soldiers, and promptly resolved any emerging ideological issues.

In addition, the Regiment always pays attention to and ensures a good material and spiritual life for officers and soldiers, building a rich, positive, and healthy cultural environment within the unit.

In addition to maintaining and effectively implementing models such as the "Zalo Group - Accompanying Soldiers"; the "Three-Person Team for Progress"; and the "Connecting the Home Front - Showing Love for Comrades" mailbox, the Regiment regularly disseminates and educates on the law in conjunction with daily activities and studies; organizes democratic dialogues, seminars, cultural and artistic exchanges, and sports activities, creating a joyful, united, and friendly atmosphere between officers and soldiers.

A new measure recently implemented by the Regiment is: After receiving young soldiers who have just completed their basic training, the Regiment's leadership, along with officers from the headquarters, will closely monitor and assist the subordinate companies; requiring 100% of squad leaders, platoon leaders, and veteran soldiers to sign a commitment to self-improvement, training, striving for excellence, solidarity, assistance, and encouragement of the new soldiers.

In particular, at certain times, the Regiment commander required staff officers to sleep in the company commander's room; company commanders slept in the platoon commander's room, and platoon officers slept in the same room as the soldiers. Along with that, squad leaders were required to always be close to the soldiers, understanding their thoughts, feelings, and any problems that arose, so that they could promptly report them to the commander for timely resolution. This made the new recruits enthusiastic, quickly stabilize their mindset, and integrate and bond with the unit.

Sergeant Nguyen Van Thanh, Squad Leader of Squad 1, Mortar Platoon 1, Company 14, shared: “When I first joined the army, as soon as I stepped into the barracks, I was impressed by the slogan: ‘Here, the unit is home / Officers and soldiers are all brothers’ right at the unit gate. Later, living in an open, friendly, and united environment, I became even more confident, enthusiastic, and reassured to complete my duties. When I became a non-commissioned officer, I followed the example of previous generations of commanders, always treating soldiers as brothers in a family, standing shoulder to shoulder with them, practicing the spirit of ‘sharing hardships,’ readily helping each other in studies and work, and determined to build a strong unit.”

We have learned that after three months of training, many new recruits wish to be assigned to suitable positions and units where they can best utilize their abilities and strengths. This is a perfectly legitimate aspiration and a matter of concern for commanders at all levels. However, due to the specific requirements of the mission and the realities of the unit, in many cases, the wishes of new recruits cannot be fulfilled.

To help soldiers understand the issue and avoid feelings of discouragement and negativity, according to Major Nguyen Van Loi, Head of Political Affairs of the Regiment, the unit has taken flexible and appropriate steps to resolve the issue. First, the unit commander bases the troop assignments and arrangements on the capabilities, health, thoughts, and aspirations of the soldiers. At the same time, during collective activities, the Regiment commander always emphasizes and educates each soldier to clearly understand their duties, build their character and determination, and, regardless of their position, strictly abide by the law, military discipline, regulations, and rules of the unit, striving to become a good and exemplary soldier in every word and deed.

Thanks to the effective and flexible implementation of political and ideological education, the officers and soldiers of Regiment 2 have maintained a spirit of unity and solidarity, fostering optimism and camaraderie among comrades. This is the driving force that enables the unit to consistently fulfill its assigned tasks in all situations.
