The workshop was attended by delegates including: Ms. Le Hoang Oanh - Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ); Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Information Technology Industry (Ministry of Science and Technology); and Mr. Vuong The Man - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lai Chau province.

With the aim of exchanging policies, sharing experiences, and introducing technological solutions to serve digital transformation for management agencies and businesses in mountainous areas, towards the goal of comprehensive and sustainable e-commerce development, many opinions expressed at the Workshop outlined directions and policies to promote digital transformation, clarified the role of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the national digital transformation process; and highlighted key tasks for digital transformation in the Northern Midlands and mountainous regions in the coming period.

Leaders of the Department of Science and Technology of Lai Chau province also outlined the results and solutions to promote digital transformation in Lai Chau province in the coming time; proposed solutions for digital transformation associated with the development of e-commerce in Lai Chau province; digital transformation and the application of e-commerce in the development of agricultural economy and provided practical examples in the locality, especially the connection of agricultural product consumption in the highlands through digital platforms… Representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade of several provinces also shared the results, effective models and lessons learned in implementing digital transformation in their localities.
The workshop also received many questions, shared experiences, and made recommendations related to digital transformation, such as: promoting digital transformation in cooperatives and small businesses under conditions of limited infrastructure and human resources; the role of telecommunications and technology companies in collaborating with local authorities; and policies to facilitate access to digital resources for mountainous localities…

As part of the event "Promoting regional linkages in e-commerce development – Elevating products from the Northern Midlands and mountainous regions," businesses in Lai Chau participated in livestreaming to sell local products.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), affirmed that e-commerce has been and continues to assert its role as an important pillar, an irreversible trend, and a pioneering field of the digital economy. The government has clearly defined the goal of developing e-commerce not only to enhance the competitiveness of businesses and expand markets, but also to contribute to narrowing the development gap between localities, bringing Vietnamese products and regional specialties to consumers nationwide and reaching the world.

To realize these immense benefits, the role of stakeholders in the digital ecosystem is crucial. Digital technology businesses are the core providers of intelligent solutions and platforms (such as electronic payments and logistics). Manufacturers, cooperatives, and household businesses are the direct users of technology in their production and business activities. State management agencies from the central to local levels play a vital role in creating a favorable legal framework, providing guidance, direction, and support.

Following the workshop, relevant agencies and businesses expressed their desire to strengthen effective inter-provincial cooperation programs and replicate successful pilot models. Increasingly, distinctive products from the Northern Midlands and mountainous regions are conquering domestic and international markets through e-commerce.
