After witnessing this performance, the Australian press did not hesitate to praise U17 Vietnam.
“Australia U17 tried every way to score but could not overcome the extremely disciplined defense of Vietnam U17. Australia U17 learned many lessons after the draw with Vietnam U17,” wrote Socceroos.
Another newspaper, Football Australia, said that the home team created many opportunities but failed to score due to bad luck.
“Australia U17 took the lead thanks to Quinn MacNicol's goal but that advantage was equalized by Vietnam U17 in the second half.
It was quite unlucky that coach Brad Maloney's team hit the crossbar of U17 Vietnam three times in this match," Football Australia emphasized.
In this match, U17 Australia dominated the game and created more scoring opportunities.
Meanwhile, U17 Vietnam played defensively but also had some very dangerous attacks.
Notably, among these was Nguyen Luc's shot that hit the post in the 90+8 minute.
With this draw, U17 Vietnam temporarily ranked 3rd in Group B of the 2025 AFC U17 Championship, equal in points and goal difference with U17 Australia.
In the next match, the red team will face the strongest team in group B, U17 Japan (April 7).
