Since 2023, the project "Stabilizing and relocating ethnic minority people in Mghi hamlet, Yang Mao commune" under the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas (Program 1719) has been implemented, and the appearance of Mghi hamlet is gradually changing noticeably.
With a total investment of 25 billion VND, the project "Stabilizing and relocating ethnic minority people in Mghi hamlet, Yang Mao commune" focuses on building essential infrastructure and gradually resolving fundamental issues related to infrastructure and livelihoods for the people.
Accordingly, Mghi village received investment in 5 key projects, including: constructing over 2 km of rural roads; extending electricity to households; building a community center; constructing 2 new classrooms at Nhan Giang Primary School; constructing a gravity-fed water supply system; and repairing and upgrading over 2 km of irrigation canals in the fields.

| The 2-kilometer rural road in Mghi hamlet was invested in under Program 1719, facilitating production and transportation for the local people. |
The newly opened concrete road has made travel and the transportation of agricultural products much easier for the villagers. Mr. Y Dong Nie, a resident of the village, happily shared: “My family has nearly 2 hectares of coffee and some other crops. Before, each harvest season we had to carry and drag each sack of coffee to the main road, which was very difficult. Now, with the concrete road, tractors can reach the fields, making it much easier and saving a lot of effort and costs.”
Besides transportation, the gravity-fed water supply system has also brought about significant changes in the daily lives of the people. Ms. H'Joan Ê Ban (Mghí village) said that previously, her family had to dig a well on their neighbor's land to share. During the rainy season, the well water was muddy, and during the dry season, they had to go all the way up the mountain to carry water back for daily use. Thanks to the gravity-fed water supply system invested by the government, her family and many households in the village now have clean water piped directly to their homes.
A key highlight of the project is the well-built and sturdy Mghi village community center. This building not only serves as a meeting place and community center but also contributes to the preservation and promotion of the traditional cultural identity of the ethnic minority people.
Alongside infrastructure investment, the project also focuses on supporting sustainable livelihoods for the people. Nearly 120 households in the village received support in the form of breeding cows, with a total budget of over 3 billion VND, helping many families acquire additional production resources and gradually improve their income. For example, the family of Mr. Y Wan Niê is one of the households that received support in the form of breeding cows since December 2024. After a year of care, the mother cow has given birth to another calf, which is now nearly 3 months old.
According to statistics, in 2024 and 2025, 13 households in Mghi village will escape poverty, contributing to a reduction in the overall poverty rate in the village. Mr. Y Jun Niê, head of Mghi village, said that the project's components have been completed and put into use, demonstrating clear effectiveness. In the future, the village proposes that the higher authorities continue to support the provision of long-term crop varieties such as durian, macadamia, and new coffee varieties for intercropping, thereby increasing income for the villagers.
