"Gia Dinh University's football team has only been established for about 6 months now. We have participated in the SV Cup, but that period was only for the players to get to know each other after the selection period.

The 2024 THACO Youth Cup is truly the place for us to demonstrate our abilities through careful preparation over the past 3 months. The team does not set any specific goals, but above all, we must compete with all our might with the spirit of fair play - fair victory - fair cheering that the Youth Student Tournament has spread since season 1," said coach Vo Ngoc Sang of the Gia Dinh University team.

Coach Vo Ngoc Sang used to lead the Hong Bang International University team in the first season. He joined Gia Dinh University team just a few months ago, and is building the school's football movement by establishing a team to compete in the THACO Cup 2024.

"The players of Gia Dinh University are still quite young, most of them were born in 2003 and 2005. Therefore, we have to try our best to achieve good results. But more importantly, participating in the TNSV THACO Cup 2024 will create a premise for a profound development of the football movement at school. Also in the training session on January 3, the football team with tradition from Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports also took to the field to practice in a methodical and professional manner.

"This is the first year Gia Dinh University has an 11-a-side football team. Over the past time, the team has been practicing hard on physical strength, tactics, and getting used to the field... to be ready to participate in the TNSV THACO Cup 2024. I also always convey to my players the meaning and significance of the tournament, as this is a large-scale student football playground, so there will be no superficiality. Everyone must be serious, must make efforts and improve themselves," said coach Vo Ngoc Sang.

In the qualifying round of the THACO Cup 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Dinh University is in Group A with the host team Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and Dai Viet Saigon College. Gia Dinh University will also have the honor of playing in the opening match of the Ho Chi Minh City qualifying round against the host team Ton Duc Thang University at 3:00 p.m. on January 6.
