Businesses proactively increased their inventory by 40%.
From the beginning of the twelfth lunar month, upon entering supermarkets and shopping stores throughout the province, shoppers can clearly feel the Tet holiday atmosphere. Shelves of confectionery, gifts, and other items are neatly arranged, interspersed with promotional price lists. At this time, the shopping frenzy for Tet among the province's residents begins to intensify.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Nhu Lai, Director of Co.opmart Dong Ha Supermarket, the supermarket proactively implemented a plan to serve the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) from the beginning of October 2025. "We increased the stock of essential goods by 35%-40%, ensuring an abundant supply to meet the shopping needs of the people," Ms. Lai said.
In terms of product structure, Co.opmart Dong Ha focuses on essential goods such as food, confectionery, beverages, and household products. The essential goods for family meals are mainly high-quality Vietnamese products, accounting for approximately 90%; the supermarket also prioritizes selling OCOP, VietGAP, safe agricultural products, and local products…
These products are currently priced 5%-10% lower than similar products on the market. From December 20, 2025 to February 16, 2026, the supermarket will have price stabilization and Tet (Lunar New Year) promotion programs such as the "Come to Co.op and bring Tet home" program; on January 30, 2026, the supermarket will organize mobile sales to stabilize market prices in Trieu Co commune… helping people shop with peace of mind for Tet.

The Quang Binh Agricultural Cooperative, located in Dong Thuan ward, specializes in producing various types of chicken and mushroom sausage, beef sausage, spring rolls, etc., for the Tet (Lunar New Year) market. In addition, the cooperative also has a store supplying clean, organic agricultural products.
Ms. Ngo Thi Hue, Director of the Cooperative, said: To ensure a sufficient supply of goods for Tet (Lunar New Year), from mid-December, the Cooperative has worked with partners to increase the amount of goods imported by 30%-40% compared to normal days (depending on the specific item); for fresh produce, larger quantities will only be imported after the 20th day of the 12th lunar month.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in recent times, manufacturing businesses, suppliers, and retail systems in the province have proactively developed plans to stockpile goods early to limit price fluctuations and ensure supply. To date, the amount of goods for Tet (Lunar New Year) is considered quite abundant, prices are stable, and many attractive promotional programs are available, effectively meeting the needs of the people. The Department has intensified market monitoring, focusing on high-demand items; implemented a peak period of goods inspection, focusing on strictly handling acts of producing and trading counterfeit, substandard, and unidentifiable goods, as well as violations of intellectual property and trademarks. In addition, the Department requires distribution systems to strengthen quality control throughout the supply chain, ensure transparency of origin, storage conditions, and proper pricing to better meet the needs of the people.
Prioritize product quality and convenience.
According to the experience of many vendors, from mid-December, the demand for goods for Tet (Lunar New Year) will gradually increase day by day, and the market will become even "hotter" as Tet approaches. However, this year consumers tend to shop more cautiously, not as impulsively as in previous years.
Mr. Tran Manh Thinh, Director of Mai Thinh Trading and Service Company Limited, Dong Hoi Ward, said: “Compared to last year, people's demand for food has not increased significantly in quantity, but has shifted to prioritizing quality, freshness, and convenience. During Tet, many people are interested in pre-processed and ready-to-eat products for family meals.”
The company deals in seafood products such as: mackerel, grouper, squid (caught by hook and line), sun-dried squid, stingray, and shrimp; some high-end live seafood such as lobster, crab, and eel; and processed products such as grilled sea snake and fish cakes… Understanding market trends, the company proactively imports a stable supply of goods, comparable to the previous year. Preparation focuses on ensuring a high-quality and diverse supply.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, Head of Luyen Hue Food, a store selling clean agricultural products in Dong Thuan ward, for food products, in addition to the origin, customers often pay attention to the production date and expiration date.
"Food shoppers often choose products with a production date closest to the time of purchase, so the store receives a steady stream of goods daily to ensure freshness and avoid overstocking. This year, sales are significantly lower than last year, with customers prioritizing clean, organic food for their families' daily meals," Ms. Linh said.
With the proactive efforts of businesses and the coordinated involvement of regulatory agencies in market coordination and supervision, this year's Tet consumer season is expected to be stable, smooth, and with abundant, quality-assured goods. This will contribute to creating a sense of security and joy for people to celebrate Tet happily and warmly.
