The Spratly Islands are not only a "barrier" protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands, but also a shining symbol of courage and undying pride. There, every inch of coral, every wave is steeped in the sweat, effort, and even blood and bones of countless generations of our forefathers. For the past 80 years, the revolutionary tradition of the nation and the spirit of victory in the first battle (August 2nd and 5th, 1964) have always been the guiding "flame" for today's Navy soldiers to firmly hold their weapons, confidently steer their ships, and protect the sacred sovereignty of the seas and islands.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Tien Diep, Political Officer of Truong Sa Island, Brigade 146, Region 4 of the Navy (Truong Sa town, Truong Sa Special Zone), stated: "We always believe that defending the island is defending the mainland, and defending the island is defending the Fatherland. Every officer and soldier at the forefront understands the trust placed in us by the people, and therefore strives to train, be ready to fight, and excellently fulfill all assigned tasks."

On this momentous occasion, the officers and soldiers of Truong Sa and the people on the islands feel an even deeper sense of sacred pride. They are ready to overcome difficulties, harsh weather, and material shortages to steadfastly hold their ground, transforming the remote islands into homes and solid fortresses amidst the vast ocean. The solemn flag-raising ceremonies at dawn; the diligent and enthusiastic training sessions; the political activities imbued with the spirit of camaraderie between the military and the people... all blend into the heroic epic of the nation, affirming that Truong Sa is always an inseparable part of our flesh and blood.
Ms. Tran Thi Chau Uc, resident of household number 2, Song Tu Tay island commune, shared: "In the joyful celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day, we, the people on this remote island, feel even more proud and attached to our homeland. Every day living on Song Tu Tay, we deeply feel the close bond between the military and the people, full of affection and solidarity. The Navy soldiers are both a support and family, helping us to confidently stay on the island and protect the sea."

Unwavering faith in the Party, the Fatherland, and the people helps today's naval soldiers maintain the spirit of "ready to fight, determined to die for the Fatherland." Each ship, each watchtower is a battlefield; each officer and soldier is a shining example of courage, willpower, and dedication. Along with this, the solidarity between the military and civilians on the islands has created a solid "people's support" base, contributing to strengthening the defense of the Fatherland's sacred maritime sovereignty.
Celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd, and looking towards Truong Sa, we are even more proud of our naval soldiers – those who are day and night writing the glorious history, ensuring the eternal existence of our Fatherland and that the national flag continues to shine brightly at the forefront of the waves and winds.
