In 2014, the brocade weaving craft of the three districts of Dong Giang, Tay Giang, and Nam Giang was recognized as a "National Intangible Cultural Heritage".

According to Mr. A Vo To Phuong - Chairman of Dong Giang District People's Committee, on this basis, the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee have led, directed and implemented resolutions, projects and plans on preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Co Tu people through the stages.

Initially, collect and preserve women's shawls, long wrap skirts, women's short skirts, belts, men's loincloths, and men's shawls. The traditional brocade weaving village of Dhroong (Ta Lu commune) maintains weaving, sewing, and designing textile products to serve tourists and locals.

On October 25, 2023, Dong Giang District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 35 on continuing to lead the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of the Co Tu people associated with tourism development in the period of 2023 - 2025, with a vision to 2030.

Many specific tasks to be done are outlined, such as compiling and publishing technical books on weaving and patterns on textile products; developing brocade weaving at the commune, village, and residential group levels with conditions.

Maintain and improve the quality of community tourism villages associated with the development of traditional brocade weaving in Areh - Dhroong village (Ta Lu commune), Bhohoong village (Song Kon commune).

Implementing the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, Dong Giang has organized training courses to teach brocade weaving to women in communes and towns...

Vice Chairman of Dong Giang District People's Committee - Mr. Do Huu Tung said that the traditional brocade weaving profession has linked tourism development with products of many different designs, colors, and weaving styles. This is the right direction, not only contributing to preserving the unique cultural values ​​of the Co Tu people but also creating jobs and increasing income for households.

Dong Giang district will continue to train traditional crafts to improve skills, create quality products imbued with national cultural identity.

At the same time, diversify designs, improve weaving techniques, find outlets for products; promote, advertise, and introduce textile products to tourists. The district will also invite artisans and product designers to teach and transfer new technology to the people.

Research consumer tastes to create products suitable for the community, both preserving the profession and bringing practical effects to life.
