On the afternoon of August 1, the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate held a conference to announce the decision to inspect 94 projects and works with difficulties and obstacles in Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, the HCMC Inspectorate directly inspected 94 projects and works, specialized projects and works with difficulties, obstacles, slow progress, long backlog, low efficiency, risk of loss and waste. The inspection period is 30 working days.
The inspection period is from the implementation of the project to July 1, 2025. If necessary, the content related to before or after the above inspection period may be considered.
The inspection aims to identify causes, difficulties, and obstacles; detect limitations and inadequacies in management mechanisms, policies, and laws to recommend to competent state agencies solutions to ensure strictness, compliance with regulations, and immediately overcome the situation of prolonged backlog leading to waste.
This activity also aims to detect violations, clearly identify responsibilities and recommend handling of violations (if any); help agencies, organizations and individuals comply with legal regulations; contribute to controlling power; improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management activities.
From there, the HCMC Inspectorate reports to the HCMC People's Committee, the Government Inspectorate and competent authorities on the inspection results for competent authorities to consider and handle, avoid loss and waste, contribute to unlocking resources and promoting economic growth.
Chief Inspector of Ho Chi Minh City Tran Van Bay said that the inspection activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate will ensure compliance with legal regulations, democracy, publicity, and objectivity; not hindering the normal activities of the inspected subjects and other agencies, organizations, and individuals. At the same time, there will be no overlap in scope and time between inspection agencies, between inspection agencies and state audit agencies; and no overlap in the exercise of rights when conducting inspections.
In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate noted a number of contents with signs of violations, risks of causing loss and waste in the following matters: approving investment policies; establishing, appraising and approving investment projects; allocating land, leasing land, changing land use purposes; determining land rental prices; performing financial obligations on land, etc.
At the same time, evaluate and clearly identify the causes of difficulties, obstacles, delays, long-term backlogs, low efficiency, risks of loss and waste in the implementation of works and projects (if any); propose solutions and remedial measures to competent authorities.
