May, Workers’ Month is the peak period for organizing activities to care for the lives and protect the legitimate rights of union members and workers from all levels of the Union in the province. Exchange and dialogue programs, timely gifts of encouragement, and donated shelters… all leave great emotions for workers in difficult circumstances. From there, they have more faith and more attachment to accompany the development of the enterprise.

Female worker Nguyen Thi Tam, from Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district. For more than 6 years now, the main source of income to ensure the family's life and raise her children's education has come from her monthly salary at MCNEXVINA Company Limited (Phuc Son Industrial Park). Ms. Tam said that with a salary of 8 million VND per month, although it is not enough to save, as long as the whole family is healthy and knows how to save, it is still enough to cover the minimum expenses for the family and raise two children.

But the incident began to happen to Ms. Tam, when a few years ago, she - the breadwinner of the family - was discovered to have stage 3 breast cancer. In order for Ms. Tam to have the opportunity to undergo treatment according to the regimen, Ms. Tam's family had to try to borrow more money, and the family's life entered a difficult period. After completing the chemotherapy treatments, although her health could not recover as before, Ms. Tam was still given the opportunity by the company to return to work. Ms. Tam was assigned a job position suitable for her health, and was given the opportunity to leave work earlier each day. Tam's current overtime salary is 6 million VND/month. This salary "shoulders" many responsibilities, both covering her living expenses and paying for Ms. Tam's monthly medicine.

Recently, Ms. Tam has received attention, encouragement and gifts from the Trade Union of the provincial Industrial Parks. The gifts on holidays, Tet, and Workers' Month that the Trade Unions at all levels give always have great meaning to Ms. Tam. They are not only a resource to help her reduce difficulties in life but also an encouragement for her to strive.

"Life is still full of difficulties when I have a terminal illness. However, the company creates favorable working conditions, has a stable income; receives timely visits and encouragement from the Trade Union at all levels... those are very meaningful gifts for me. I will try to work hard and responsibly to contribute to creating quality products, contributing to the development of the business" - Ms. Tam was moved.

Ms. Dang Thi Na, in Khanh Cuong commune, Yen Khanh district, is also a disadvantaged worker of MCNEXVINA Company Limited, who received a gift of encouragement from the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union on the occasion of Workers' Month 2023. She has 3 children, including her first son who is disabled due to sequelae of a cerebral hemorrhage since childhood. Every month, Ms. Na's son has to go for regular check-ups and take medicine. The income of more than ten million VND of both husband and wife becomes limited when there are too many things to cover and raise a sick child.

Ms. Na shared: Although life has many difficulties and hardships, I have never felt alone. In the most difficult times, I still received attention and encouragement from the Union at all levels. The company created conditions for me to go home early every day to take care of my child; gave gifts on holidays and Tet; let my child participate in many collective activities... Those things are enough for me to be attached to the company as my second home.

MCNEXVINA Company Limited has nearly 4,000 employees. Among them are workers in difficult circumstances, from poor or near-poor households or those who have encountered risks or sudden accidents. In recent years, along with efforts to develop production and business to ensure jobs and stable wages for workers, the company has paid special attention to taking care of the spiritual life of workers, through the very active activities of the grassroots Trade Union.

Ms. Doan Thi Thu Giang, Chairwoman of the MCNEXVINA Company Limited's Trade Union, said: The company has organized and maintained well programs such as: Supporting children to go to school; giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances; organizing family festivals, in which workers' families are organized to visit the company and participate in collective games. In particular, during the annual Workers' Month, in addition to visiting and giving gifts, the company also organizes many activities such as: Golden Bell Competition; women's volleyball, tug of war, folk dancing... to connect workers. Through the competitions, workers are provided with more knowledge about occupational safety and hygiene, policies and regimes according to labor laws... so everyone is very excited, secure, and trusts the Trade Union organization and works together, shares difficulties with businesses, and strives to make good products to increase the company's reputation.

Accompanying workers, especially workers in difficult circumstances, the 2023 Workers' Month has been implemented by Trade Unions at all levels in our province with many very practical activities such as: Organizing the program "May dialogue", the forum "workers for businesses, businesses for workers", the activity "thanking workers" ... to grasp the legitimate thoughts, aspirations, and problems arising among workers. From there, Trade Unions at all levels promptly share and clearly explain issues that workers are concerned about; proactively advise businesses to make appropriate policy adjustments to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

In particular, the Trade Unions at all levels have coordinated to carry out many other practical activities such as: Giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, having accidents or unexpected risks; supporting the construction of "union shelters" for union members with housing difficulties; organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities... creating interesting and useful playgrounds, thereby connecting workers with the Trade Union organization and building a harmonious and stable relationship between workers and businesses.
