On the occasion of the 2026 Buddha's Birthday Celebration - Buddhist Calendar 2570, on May 29th in Hanoi, Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice President and Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, visited and congratulated Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet, Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Buddhist Education Board, and Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy. She also affirmed the role and contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in consolidating national unity and accompanying the country in its new development phase.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Ms. Ha Thi Nga respectfully conveyed the congratulations of Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, to all venerable monks, nuns, lay Buddhists, and followers nationwide; wishing all religious leaders, monks, nuns, and Buddhists a joyful, peaceful, and happy Vesak season.

Expressing her appreciation for the contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha over the past period, Ms. Ha Thi Nga emphasized that, in the context of the country facing many difficulties and challenges due to climate change, natural disasters, and floods, the patriotic spirit, the tradition of solidarity, and the strength of the great national unity continue to be strongly promoted. Among these overall achievements is the positive contribution of religious dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhists nationwide through practicing the motto of living a "good life, beautiful religion," accompanying localities in socio-economic development, and actively participating in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

According to Ms. Ha Thi Nga, this year's Buddha's Birthday celebration takes place in the context of the country having just successfully organized the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; and immediately following the success of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, for the 2026-2031 term.

Ms. Ha Thi Nga stated that the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has set forth many important action programs and breakthroughs, focusing on promoting the role of religious organizations in consolidating national unity, mobilizing social resources, and contributing to building a rapidly and sustainably developing country in the new period.

Emphasizing the role of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in social life, Ms. Ha Thi Nga expressed her hope that Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet and the Sangha would continue to work alongside the Vietnam Fatherland Front in strengthening people's unity, spreading the humanistic values ​​of Buddhism, and contributing to the successful achievement of national development goals in the new era.

At the same time, she expressed her hope that the Vietnam Buddhist Academy would continue to effectively promote its training activities, inherit the mission of propagating Buddhism, serving humanity, and becoming a place where the wisdom, virtue, and dedication of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha converge.

Expressing his sincere gratitude for the affection and attention of the leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet affirmed that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Vietnam Buddhist Academy will continue to accompany the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the work of mobilizing and uniting the people, strengthening the ties between religions; steadfastly adhering to the motto "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism", thereby contributing to the effective implementation of patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the coming time.
