This morning, August 19, the Government organized an online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony for about 250 projects at 80 locations across the country, both in person and online. The event is meaningful in celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.
Statistics from the Ministry of Construction show that there are 250 large projects and works of ministries, branches, localities, corporations and general companies in 34 provinces and cities that are eligible to start construction and inaugurate, with a total investment of nearly 1.3 million billion VND from state capital and other capital sources.

The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony was held with the central point at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi City) and 80 online and live television points at projects and constructions.
At a press conference providing information about this event on August 14, Minister and Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son emphasized that the inauguration and putting into operation of works and projects and the simultaneous commencement of large-scale works contribute to creating momentum and momentum for the country's socio-economic development, and strengthening regional connectivity.
This, according to him, also contributes to growth of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years, creating jobs, livelihoods for people and improving people's lives.
Providing more information about the typical projects, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan said that on this occasion, the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi will be inaugurated. According to the investment plan, the project will not be completed until 2027, but the project has shortened the time to inaugurate on August 19.
“This is a very complex design project, with beautiful architecture, and super-long and super-heavy steel structure,” Mr. Tuan added.
Also starting construction this time, according to Mr. Tuan, is Viettel's Research and Development Center. This is a typical project to research high-tech equipment, especially semiconductors, AI, and Data. The total investment is about 10,000 billion VND.
In addition, there is the project to build Nghe An Oncology Hospital in Nghe An province, with a total investment of 1,259 billion VND, with a scale of 1,000 beds; the Hai Anh Wind Power Plant project, worth 1,565 billion VND; the project to start construction of a commercial service area combined with an entertainment park in Da Nang with a scale of nearly 77 hectares, with a total investment of 79,790 billion VND.
In the field of transportation, the Rach Mieu bridge project was inaugurated - a typical project.
“Previously, cable-stayed bridges had to hire foreign consultants, foreign contractors, and Vietnamese subcontractors, so the construction time was long. Now, technology is more advanced, the design contractor is also a Vietnamese contractor, the construction unit is also a Vietnamese construction unit, so the construction time is shortened by 4 months,” the Deputy Minister of Construction shared.
Regarding the impact of the projects, he said that the 250 projects will contribute over 18% of the country's GDP in 2025 and over 20% in the following years. Projects using state budget capital will create a strategic infrastructure framework to guide private investment.
