Reading the eulogy at the ceremony, comrade Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 515 of Dong Nai province, was moved to remember the souls of the martyrs, who did not spare their blood and bones for the cause of independence and national reunification.

In the latest search and collection, Dong Nai provincial authorities have recovered 30 remains of martyrs in the Loc Ninh airport area and Phuoc Son commune. Due to the fierce war conditions and long period of time, the identities and hometowns of the martyrs have not yet been determined. However, 13 biological samples are eligible for DNA testing. The identification work is still underway, with the hope of bringing comfort to the families of martyrs who have not yet found their loved ones.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son shared: "It was very touching to see the remaining relics next to the remains, such as a bottle of essential oil, a comb, a vase, a pair of rubber sandals, a hammock, a tent, weapons... These are everyday objects but contain a heroic and tragic time."

Since 2002, Team K72, which specializes in searching for martyrs’ remains under the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, has persistently searched for and recovered 3,953 sets of martyrs’ remains, of which 3,242 sets are of soldiers who died in Cambodia and 711 sets were collected domestically. This is not only the result of perseverance, but also a profound expression of the spirit of “remembering the source of water when drinking water”, showing gratitude to the deceased.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Nai province, comrade Le Truong Son expressed his deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, and those who sacrificed their youth and blood for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
At the end of the ceremony, delegates performed a solemn burial ceremony and burned incense on the newly gathered graves. The country will never forget the sacrifices and contributions of those who have remained for peace today.
