In order to enhance safety for more than 2.5 million students of all levels of general education in the area preparing to enter the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City - the Standing Agency of the City Traffic Safety Committee has deployed a plan to coordinate the implementation of "Safe Month for Students Going to School in Ho Chi Minh City - September 2025"...

Accordingly, agencies, units and localities will coordinate to promote propaganda and mobilize parents and students to wear helmets when participating in traffic by motorbike and electric bicycle; not to drive side by side on the road; not to run red lights; not to drive motorbikes or electric motorbikes when underage; not to weave, swerve... parents do not hand over vehicles to people who are not qualified to drive vehicles in traffic. When dropping off and picking up students, parents do not encroach on sidewalks or roadsides to park, causing congestion and disorder in traffic safety at school gates.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, the implementation must ensure practicality and attract the participation of students, parents and the community. From there, continue to implement more drastic solutions to prevent and reduce traffic accidents related to school age; effectively prevent and combat traffic disorder and insecurity in school areas in the area.

In September, the coordinating units will organize the Launching Ceremony of the Safe School Month for students in conjunction with the opening activities of the 2025-2026 school year at all primary, secondary and high schools in the area. Accompanied by a series of solutions on propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations on traffic safety, on signing agreements and commitments not to violate traffic safety. Coordinate with the People's Committees of communes, wards and schools to propagate and mobilize students to use buses and public transport in the 2025-2026 school year.

The Department of Education and Training will deploy the above plan to primary, secondary and high schools in the city. Coordinate with the Department of Construction to renovate traffic infrastructure at school locations and direct schools to proactively coordinate with units under the Department of Construction to review locations in front of school gates that cause traffic safety problems. Depending on the specific conditions of each school, schools will arrange locations for picking up and dropping off students within the school grounds to avoid local traffic congestion.

City Police direct the Traffic Police Department to coordinate with the People's Committees and Police of communes and wards to arrange traffic police forces to coordinate traffic regulation at all school gates.

The Department of Construction also requested the Department of Science and Technology to promptly prevent, remove, and delete information that negatively impacts students, especially content that lacks standards, promotes violations, racing, weaving, and driving that disturbs public order. The People's Committees of communes and wards develop and deploy implementation plans to members of the Traffic Safety Committee; organize volunteer teams to participate in traffic regulation at school gates, etc.
