Dong Thap focuses on improving the investment and business environment, developing the private economy and cooperative economy.

DTO - In the first 6 months of the year, sectors and levels in the province continued to strongly improve the investment and business environment according to the direction of the Government in Resolution 02/NQ-CP, with the consistent motto "Accompanying businesses".

In the first 6 months of the year, Dong Thap province estimated that there were about 400 newly established enterprises with a total registered capital of more than 3,750 billion VND, reaching 60% of the yearly plan, along with about 100 enterprises resuming operations, bringing the total number of operating enterprises to more than 5,424. The province continued to implement approved large urban projects such as: Hoa Thanh Residential Area, An Lac 1 New Urban Area, Vinh Phuoc Urban Area, Bon Mua Urban Area. At the same time, review and adjust progress to support investors in completing procedures for land, construction, environment, fire prevention and fighting, etc. to ensure conditions for effective implementation and operation of projects.

In addition, in the first 6 months of the year, the province received 35 dossiers; including 33 dossiers proposing investment projects, 2 dossiers investing in the form of purchasing capital contributions to companies by foreign investors. By June 10, 2025, it had attracted 6 new investment projects with a total registered investment capital of more than 3,260 billion VND (in the form of investment policy approval, investor approval and issuance of Investment Registration Certificate), reaching 25% of the plan, including 2 FDI projects, with registered capital of 829 billion VND.

Regarding the collective economy in the province, it continues to be focused on, consolidated and developed in a modern and effective direction. The whole province currently has 153 guilds with 7,823 members, an increase of 3 guilds compared to the same period; there are 40 agricultural cooperatives formed from the guild model. As of May 26, 5 new cooperatives were established, bringing the total number to 255 cooperatives, completing 71.43% of the annual plan. Resource support work has been implemented synchronously, with 131 young workers assigned to work at 88 collective economic organizations, with a support budget of nearly 5.7 billion VND. Digital transformation activities recorded outstanding results with 68 Cooperatives and 20 Association Halls applying IoT, 54 Cooperatives and 25 Association Halls implementing traceability and e-commerce, exceeding the set plan targets, contributing to the modernization of the collective economy, improving competitiveness in the market...
