To implement the construction of model residential areas, Dong Van district has directed 6 communes and towns to select 6 villages to be recognized as New Rural Villages in 2020 for pilot implementation. The goal of building these 6 villages is to ensure the following criteria: Bright, green, clean, civilized, safe, building "5 no 3 clean" families and developing household economy . Up to now, after 1 year of implementation, 6 model residential areas have created a strong change in the awareness and perception of households, arousing and promoting the responsibility of the people, especially the role of cadres, party members, union members, association members, and typical people in the community to participate and respond. The communes and towns have mobilized over 950 million VND from social resources, installed 144 new lighting systems for 6 roads in 6 villages in the communes, installed over 20 fake security camera systems to help reduce the risk of crime; More than 460 new trees, shade trees and flowers of all kinds were planted. 100% of the roads and streets registered for implementation were hardened, ensuring no mud in the rainy season, sanitation work was maintained regularly, clean and airy. In addition, households in residential areas raise awareness of building, preserving and promoting cultural identity, good customs and traditions, and protecting cultural heritages. In 6 villages, 90% of households meet the standards of a cultural family; 100% of households comply with regulations on civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals. Each village has at least one team or an effective cultural and artistic club. In particular, 453 households in 6 villages and residential areas comply with the policies and laws of the State and locality. Security, order and social safety in residential areas are ensured. Regarding the criteria for building a family: "5 no 3 clean", currently, in 6 villages, there are no poor households, no law violators and social evils, no domestic violence, no third or more children. 100% of households in the village have access to preferential loans for economic development; grow and raise plants and animals suitable to local conditions and know how to apply science and technology to production and livestock breeding to gradually improve economic efficiency.

Seo Lung B village, Sang Tung commune is one of 6 villages selected to build a model residential area. Mr. Sung Sinh Vu, Secretary of the Seo Lung B village Party Cell, said: The whole village has 71 households. In recent years, thanks to the conversion of crop structure from corn to cabbage, the whole village now has nearly 20 hectares of cabbage. Thanks to favorable climate, each year, people harvest 3 crops, sell at Dong Van, Meo Vac, Yen Minh markets and export to other provinces. With a selling price of about 3,000 VND/kg, each household earns an average of 26 million VND/crop, earning nearly 80 million VND/year. Up to now, the whole village has only 5 poor households and 4 near-poor households.

Comrade Pham Duc Nam, Vice Chairman of Dong Van District People's Committee said: Building model residential areas in 6 villages of 6 communes in the district has created a positive change in people's awareness, contributing significantly to the emulation movement to build new rural areas. In fact, building model residential areas will go hand in hand with reasonable planning, thereby creating favorable conditions for the development of rural infrastructure, creating an active community, a positive and healthy social environment. In particular, in the model residential areas, there are professional community management organizations, helping to maintain and manage infrastructure, protect the environment and effectively solve community problems. In the coming time, the district will maintain these 6 villages and continue to select villages with sufficient conditions to orient construction and appropriate development.
