Today, August 26, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, signed a document agreeing in principle to allow ASIA Alloy Steel Joint Stock Company to propose a project for the 110 KV Power Line and the 63 MVA My Thuy Transformer Station to supply electricity to the ASIA Stainless Steel and Alloy Steel Factory in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone. The time to prepare the project proposal shall not exceed 3 months from the date the Provincial People's Committee issues the document.

Accordingly, ASIA Alloy Steel Joint Stock Company is responsible for closely coordinating with the People's Committee of Hai Lang district, the departments of Natural Resources and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and the electricity company to conduct review steps to ensure compliance with relevant planning and procedures according to the provisions of the law on land, electricity and other relevant laws as required before submitting for approval of the investment policy according to regulations.
The company must have a written commitment and agreement with the Central Power Corporation on investment, investment boundaries, connection, electricity use and the agency managing, operating and exploiting the power system after investment; at the same time, commit to the capital source for project implementation and completion progress with relevant documents for proof.
The proposed location for the construction of the 110kV My Thuy transformer station in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone is in Hai Ba commune, Hai Lang district. The 110kV line is expected to be 16.8 km long, connecting through the communes of Hai Tho, Hai Truong, Hai Tan, Hai Hoa, Hai Thanh, Hai Duong , Hai Que and Hai Ba; the expansion of the existing 110kV Dien Sanh transformer station is in Hai Tho commune.
The total land area used to implement the project is about 267,419 m2 , of which the permanent land area is about 15,419 m2 . The estimated investment capital is over 235 billion VND.
According to the Department of Planning and Investment, the ASIA Stainless Steel and Alloy Steel Factory project has a total investment of more than VND 1,702 billion. When completed, this project will need a large power source (about 48 MW) to operate promptly, promote project efficiency, and avoid losses for investors.
With the current power source in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone, it will not be able to supply electricity to the factory. Therefore, investing in building a power supply system for the factory to operate when completed is extremely necessary.
