Raid on fake Chanel and Dior perfume warehouse right in the middle of Hanoi's Old Quarter

(Dan Tri) - Hanoi authorities have just raided a warehouse of perfumes of unknown origin on Hang Giay Street (Hoan Kiem District).

Information from the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) said that on the morning of May 28, Market Management Team No. 1, Hanoi Market Management Department coordinated with professional units under the Department to suddenly inspect a business location on Hang Giay Street, Dong Xuan Ward, Hoan Kiem District.

Here, the inspection team discovered a large number of perfume products bearing famous brands such as Giovani, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Chanel... However, upon initial inspection, the inspection team determined that these products all showed signs of being counterfeited very sophisticatedly, from the labels to the packaging.

According to legal representatives of several brands present at the scene, most of the products in this warehouse were illegally copied, even though genuine products on the market are worth millions of dong.

Currently, the authorities said that the inspection team is still working on counting and classifying the infringing goods. The owner of this batch of perfume suspected of being fake of a famous brand has not yet come to work with the authorities.

Recently, authorities have continuously discovered and arrested many cases of manufacturing and trading of functional foods, fake medicines, milk, food, and cosmetics of unknown origin. Previously, on May 27, in Ca Mau , the provincial Market Management force conducted an inspection, discovered and seized 2,000 cosmetic products of unknown origin, which were sold online via social networks.

The owner of the establishment regularly posts articles, pictures, and videos introducing and promoting beauty products, makeup accessories, etc. However, inspection results show that the products being sold do not have documents proving their legal origin.
