The 2024/2025 Vietnamese professional football season is expected to begin with the National Super Cup match on August 17, 2024. The V-League will start on August 23, 2024 and end on June 21, 2025. The National First Division will take place from September 13, 2024 to May 25, 2025. The National Cup will begin on November 1, 2024 and the final will be played on June 26, 2025.
Thus, Vietnamese football will have less than 2 months off between the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons. This is the second consecutive time that VPF has less than 2 months to prepare for the new season, after V-League 2023 ends on August 27, 2023 and V-League 2023/2024 opens on October 20, 2023.
Currently, the 2023/2024 V-League has played 9 rounds and is expected to end at the end of June. Meanwhile, the 2023/2024 season of Vietnamese football is expected to end after the National Cup final in early July.
The 2024/2025 season of Vietnamese football will be longer than usual, because the Vietnam National Team will have many activities. However, the organizing committee has not yet set any breaks to make room for the Vietnam National Team's schedule.
According to the plan, the Vietnam National Team will participate in the AFF Cup 2024, which will take place from the end of November and last until almost the end of December 2024. In addition, the Vietnam National Team will have 5 FIFA Days gatherings in late 2024 and early 2025.
