On December 3, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the chairman of this province has just signed and issued a plan to organize the implementation of compensation, support, and resettlement to serve the project of expanding and upgrading Ca Mau airport. The province aims to hand over the clean site to the investor before March 31, 2025.
The plan includes important steps such as: investigation, survey, determination of resettlement needs; dissemination of information, receiving public opinions; measurement and counting of recovered land; preparation and approval of compensation, support and resettlement plans. The implementation time of these steps is shortened to 97 days (not including the time to determine specific land prices).

In addition, handling complaints and resolving outstanding issues related to compensation, support and resettlement are also considered important tasks, but are not included in the official deadline of the plan.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province emphasized that the implementation of this plan is a key political task of relevant agencies and units. Implementation efficiency is a criterion to evaluate the level of task completion of heads of departments, branches, the People's Committee of Ca Mau city and participating units.
Units are required to enhance their roles and responsibilities, and coordinate closely to ensure progress. This new plan replaces Plan No. 55/KH-UBND dated March 12, 2024, with adjusted contents to better suit the implementation reality.
The project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau airport is one of the key projects, contributing to promoting the socio -economic development of the province. Accelerating the progress of compensation, support and resettlement not only ensures the feasibility of the project but also demonstrates the determination of the local government in creating the most favorable conditions for people and investors.
It is known that the site clearance is outside the scope of the existing flight route and does not affect flight operations. Therefore, Ca Mau Airport will continue to operate normally until a decision is made to close it for repairs and upgrades to the terminal.
