According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of the cold air strengthening weakly from the East, today (January 7), the Northeast region, including the capital Hanoi, will remain cloudy with scattered light rain; the humidity in the air is quite high, averaging 81-91%. In the Northwest region, the afternoon will be sunny.

The whole region is mainly cold at night and early morning with the lowest temperature in the coastal, midland and plain areas ranging from 16-19 degrees, especially in mountainous areas where the temperature is lower at 14-17 degrees, and in high mountainous areas, in some places below 14 degrees. However, the temperature during the day increases quite high, up to 26 degrees.

The area from Quang Binh to Phu Yen continues to have scattered rain and showers today. In the North, it will be cold at night and in the morning.

In addition, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that the cold air will weaken later, but will strengthen again around January 10-11 and January 14-15.

The weather in the South and Ho Chi Minh City in the coming days will have little rain, sunny days, medium to high UV index, low humidity causing dryness.

The meteorological agency noted that the temperature range between day and night in this area is relatively large, and the cold weather at night and early morning can cause respiratory diseases. The weather is dry, so be careful of fires and electrical short circuits due to overload.

Winter is less cold, December's cold spell recorded the lowest temperature in the past 10 years . Although this winter is expected to be warm, the recent cold spell in Mau Son recorded a temperature of -2.5 degrees, the lowest in the same period in December since observations began in 2012.
