The four-day holiday from April 30th to May 1st, along with favorable weather, creates ideal conditions for locals and tourists to plan their first trip of the 2026 summer peak travel season.

Sa Pa is more crowded than the same period last year.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , during this holiday, people chose diverse destinations ranging from blue beaches to villages rich in cultural identity in the highlands. In the first two days of the holiday, Sa Pa ( Lao Cai ) and Lo Lo Chai (Tuyen Quang) were popular choices for tourists.

According to Mr. Viet Mai, the owner of a homestay in Sa Pa, the number of tourists visiting Sa Pa during this holiday is higher than the same period last year. On the evening of April 30th, the center of Sa Pa was crowded with tourists, causing people to move slowly, and the whole neighborhood was bustling and lively. At Mr. Mai's family homestay, all rooms were fully booked for the holiday period.

"Sa Pa now is like a weekday a few years ago, and a weekend a few years ago. Holidays are even busier, with tourists flocking to the streets and villages," Mai shared.

The Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area also recorded a massive influx of visitors, with tourists jostling to get to the check-in points on the summit of Fansipan.

Tourists crowd into Lo Lo Chai.

Meanwhile, in Tuyen Quang , the fairytale village of Lo Lo Chai (Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang) is one of the destinations that Vietnamese tourists are interested in during the holidays.

Mr. Sinh Di Gai, head of Lo Lo Chai village, said that the entire village has 62 households operating homestays with a total of 462 rooms, and all are fully booked. During this holiday, visitors to the village are mainly domestic tourists, staying for 2 to 3 nights.

Mr. Gai added that besides the guests who had booked rooms in advance, there were also groups who came to Lung Cu and were looking for rooms. "Just tonight, a group of tourists from Hai Phong came to the village but still haven't found a room," Mr. Gai said.

While staying in Lo Lo Chai village, tourists can experience many community activities rich in cultural identity. On the evening of April 30th, Lo Lo Chai village organized a cultural performance, including dances by the Lo Lo and Mong people.

Meanwhile, the Nặm Đăm Community Tourism Village (Quản Bạ commune, Tuyên Quang province) also recorded a higher-than-usual number of tourists.

Mr. Ly Ta Danh, the owner of a homestay in Nam Dam village, said that the village is a convenient transit point, so tourists often choose to stay here for one night before traveling to other destinations such as Lung Cu, Dong Van, and Ma Pi Leng Pass. Today (May 1st), there are still groups booking rooms, mostly domestic tourists.

"The homestays in the village are almost fully booked. To serve tourists, the village is organizing many activities, including a performance of a Dao ethnic minority coming-of-age ceremony excerpt on the evening of April 30th at the village's cultural center," shared Mr. Ly Ta Danh.
