Tourists travel thousands of kilometers to hunt clouds and conquer the roof of Lang Son

(Dan Tri) - Phia Po Peak is 1,541m high, the highest in the Mau Son mountain range of more than 80 peaks. Conquering this peak, visitors can cross many different types of terrain with extremely interesting experiences.

Recently, Phia Po peak in Loc Binh district, Lang Son province has become a new trekking destination that attracts many tourists. Phia Po is the highest peak in the 80-mountain range of Mau Son (Lang Son). If Mau Son peak in Lang Son is called Mother Mountain, Phia Po is also known as Father Mountain. In the Tay language, Phia is a big mountain, Po is a father.

This mountain is located about 30km northeast of Lang Son city, with an altitude of 1,541m above sea level.

Visitors conquering Phia Po peak will experience many different habitats and terrains. In the summer, when walking on the vast, green grass slopes, visitors feel like they are standing in the middle of a vast steppe. In the winter, the grass gradually turns yellow, standing out against the blue sky, creating a colorful scene.

To conquer the top of Cha Mountain, visitors must cross dozens of large and small mountain peaks. Passing each mountain peak, visitors feel overwhelmed with joy. Each mountain peak is an ideal stop on the journey to conquer the roof of Lang Son. Here, everyone can freely take pictures and pose to capture rare moments.

Passing through the mountainside are patches of primeval forest and bamboo forest. To move conveniently, Mr. Vu Duc Thien (Phu Quoc, Kien Giang ) took advantage of two bamboo sticks given to him by the tour guide at the foot of the mountain.

"Coming here, I understood what a winding, steep slope is. The road is still quite wild, so I can easily touch the rocks and blades of grass in the most realistic way," said Mr. Thien.

The "dinosaur spine" stretches nearly 500m, rising between two deep abysses. Standing on the ridge, which is only about 2m wide, is an unforgettable feeling. This is also a check-in spot that visitors cannot miss when coming to Phia Po peak.

At the resort at an altitude of about 1,000m, many tourist groups have chosen to camp overnight to watch the sunset and welcome the sunrise.

Staying overnight on the mountain top also helps visitors hunt clouds successfully because they don't have to travel too early.

Mr. Dinh Van Hong, a local tour guide, said that Phia Po peak has beautiful grass slopes. Visitors can experience maple forests, primeval forests, reed forests, bamboo forests, and rhododendron forests before reaching the top.

According to Mr. Hong, since 2017, tourists from all over the world have started to know about Phia Po. When seeing the increasing number of visitors, many locals have taken on the task of guiding and carrying luggage for the tourist groups.

For groups of tourists who want to experience Phia Po for 2 days and 1 night, they are forced to hire local people to help bring food, drinks, and tents because the road is quite dangerous and the terrain is complex.

The most tourists come to conquer Phia Po from October to April every year because the weather is stable, no rain, and not too hot. To conquer Phia Po peak in one day, tourists should depart at 7:30 am. The travel time from the foot of the mountain to the top and back is about 6-9 hours.
