Phu Quoc is experiencing a tourism boom at the end of the year, driven by the increasing demand from international tourists.

During the peak tourist season (late 2024 and early 2025), it is expected that up to 20 airlines will operate flights to Phu Quoc, with over 100 flights per week from various countries and territories. This number represents an increase of approximately 25% compared to late 2023 and early 2024, demonstrating the growing popularity of Phu Quoc as a tourist destination, following the island's numerous international awards last summer, most notably being named the "2nd Most Beautiful Island in the World" by the prestigious travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

Among the markets operating direct flights to Phu Quoc, South Korea remains the most active source market, with three routes operated by Korean Air, Jeju Air, and Jin Air from Seoul to Phu Quoc, maintained from the end of last year until now. From Cheongju city, Eastar Jet has been operating four flights per week, starting in July this year.

To meet the demand of Korean tourists wishing to explore Phu Quoc – which has consistently ranked first among the most popular overseas destinations for Korean visitors for the past three months – Korean Air is adding more flights starting December 15, 2024, increasing the frequency to two direct flights per day from Seoul to the island.

Phu Quoc is considered a "rising star" on the world tourism map.

Mr. Kim Kye Yong, CEO of Korean Air in Vietnam, further explained the appeal of Phu Quoc Island: “Phu Quoc is very well preserved with pristine nature, and moreover, it has many luxurious hotels, the world's longest three-wire cable car, attractive theme parks, and beautiful European-style architecture. In other words, Phu Quoc is a destination where you can both relax and enjoy many experiences at the same time.”

Speaking of the allure of Phu Quoc Island, first and foremost, we must mention its stunning natural beauty and diverse ecosystem, among the best in Vietnam. Most of Phu Quoc's beaches are pristine, a rarity elsewhere on the mainland, and are considered among the "most beautiful on the planet," boasting fine white sand and characteristic emerald green waters, such as Bai Kem and Bai Sao in the southern part of the island. Smaller islands like Hon Gam Ghi and Hon May Rut offer dreamy beauty and diverse marine and forest life. During the most beautiful season, the island maintains a temperature of 29-30°C with golden sunshine and gentle breezes, making outdoor activities incredibly pleasant.

The 18-hole Eschuri Vung Bau Golf course is currently a major attraction for tourists visiting Phu Quoc.

The ideal natural conditions are also a reason why many golfers choose Phu Quoc as a golf destination, enjoying both the stunning natural beauty and challenging themselves with holes of complex terrain. The 18-hole Eschuri Vung Bau Golf course is a "rising star," having been praised by Korean golf connoisseurs on SBS Golf television shortly after its opening.

Beyond its natural beauty, the upscale resort ecosystem with leading international brands and unique entertainment experiences has created an increasingly distinctive image of Phu Quoc, unmistakable from other island destinations around the world. A prime example is the Sun Paradise Land ecosystem in the South of the island, featuring Sunset Town, the iconic Kissing Bridge, the Kiss of the Sea show (which holds numerous world records), and the world's longest three-wire cable car to Hon Thom Island… Towards the end of the year, Phu Quoc Island also becomes a destination for events and millions of joys, with the planned launch of a craft brewery and many new shows, notably Symphony of the Sea, featuring jetski and flyboard performances combined with artistic fireworks and Vietnamese cultural elements such as traditional drums and lion dances.
