To help consumers recognize, access, and use more and more Vietnamese branded products, the Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, the People's Committees of communes and wards, and Tu Son Chau Doc supermarket, organized trips to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, themed "Vietnamese Goods Festival in Rural Areas - OCOP Products (One Commune One Product Program) An Giang ".

At the "Vietnamese Goods for Rural Areas" market in Chau Phu commune, we observed a large number of people visiting and shopping. Their baskets were overflowing with products, mainly regional specialties: Thai Nguyen tea, Tay Ninh salt, Da Lat artichoke tea, Dak Nong sesame candy… and various household items. "It's rare to have the opportunity to buy reputable local specialties in the commune. I hope there will be markets like this occasionally so people can shop at reasonable prices," shared Ms. Tran Thi Lan, a resident of Chau Phu commune.
Later, the market arrived in Tan Chau ward, so Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Nga, a local resident, took the opportunity to shop. She shared: “Vietnamese goods are now of comparable quality to foreign goods, and the prices are much more affordable. My family usually prioritizes choosing household items and kitchenware from Vietnamese brands. At the market, I can buy many specialties from all over the country without having to travel far, such as Tay Ninh rice paper, Da Lat mulberry jam, Soc Trang mooncakes, Phu Quoc fish sauce, etc.”
According to Nguyen Minh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the Tan Chau Ward People's Committee: “We collaborated with Tu Son Chau Doc supermarket to organize a mobile market, bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas. This attracted over 200 suppliers from 30 provinces and cities nationwide, offering more than 1,000 essential products. The market focused on showcasing OCOP products, regional specialties, and goods from reputable Vietnamese brands. This was also an opportunity for cooperatives and OCOP entities at the provincial and ward levels to promote and sell their products and connect with rural markets.”
According to Mr. Ta Minh Tam, Director of Tu Son Chau Doc Limited Company: “For over 10 years, we have partnered with provincial departments, agencies, and localities inside and outside the province to organize hundreds of shipments and markets bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas, contributing strongly to the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods,” helping to raise awareness, guide and create a habit of prioritizing the use of Vietnamese goods among the people. At the same time, it promotes production and business, opens up new avenues for local products, and makes a practical contribution to the market stabilization program.”
Thanks to mobile markets and sales trips to remote, border, and mountainous areas, regional specialties and OCOP products from all over the country are being disseminated. In addition, Tu Son Supermarket has established a Center for Vietnamese Specialties, bringing together hundreds of regional specialties and OCOP products from across the country, allowing customers to explore the flavors of all three regions in one place. “After visiting the Ba Chua Xu Temple on Sam Mountain, my family came here to buy specialties from various provinces for personal use and as gifts. No need to go far, it’s so convenient,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thau, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the Steering Committee of the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign in An Giang province, the province is creating favorable conditions to support businesses in building brands and expanding product markets; strengthening state management; and supporting and connecting trade promotion activities for key products. In addition, market management is being intensified, contributing to preventing counterfeit and substandard goods and commercial fraud, protecting the legitimate rights of consumers.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the unit regularly coordinates bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas and island communes to serve the shopping needs of the people; organizes provincial business delegations to participate in product exhibitions at trade fairs and conferences, creating brand awareness and increasing purchasing power in remote areas. In the near future, the province will organize many events showcasing OCOP products and specialties, accompanying local consumers, connecting OCOP products from the Mekong Delta region in 2025, and bringing products into modern distribution systems… It is hoped that these are positive steps to bring the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign into practice.
