Vietnam's regional specialties are closer to suburban consumers
Participating in the 2025 Vietnamese Market in Thanh Oai Commune ( Hanoi ) from November 20 to 23, Ms. Dang Thi Minh, from Cao Bang, brought local specialties and agricultural products to introduce directly to consumers in the suburbs of Hanoi. She shared: "My products are not known to many people. The selling price at the market is almost the same as Cao Bang , the main goal is to promote local products, profit is not a priority."

This is the second time Ms. Minh has participated in fairs in Hanoi. According to her, many suburban customers are still skeptical about the origin of the products: "Many people worry about whether these are real Cao Bang products or not. However, when customers directly see the products clearly displayed and of the correct origin, their trust gradually increases."
Ms. Minh also shared about the difficulties in expanding the market: “We have just joined the fairs and have not yet grasped the support channels. Hopefully there will be more channels to connect and support small businesses so that Cao Bang specialties can get closer to Hanoi consumers.”

Also participating in the fair, Ms. Nguyen Thu Hue, representative of the nem chua production facility in Hoang Hoa commune ( Thanh Hoa province) said that the facility participated in the event to promote traditional products and connect directly with customers. Products such as nem chua, fish sauce and traditional spices were positively received by customers, especially at the end of the year.
“At the end of the year, consumer demand increases, people buy more for their own use and as gifts,” said Ms. Hue. In addition to selling directly at the fair, the facility always delivers to regular customers nationwide. Through the fairs, the facility can reach and expand its network of new customers.
Ms. Hue said that the facility has not yet opened an agency in Hanoi, mainly relying on online channels for orders, while increasing the production of fermented pork rolls and fish sauce to meet the shopping needs at the end of the year and the beginning of the new year. "The market is an opportunity to approach customers directly, but the online format still helps us maintain a stable market ," Ms. Hue shared.
Through her experiences at the fair, Ms. Hue realized that suburban customers began to look for quality products with clear origins, instead of choosing floating goods. This affirmed the consumer trend shifting to quality, safe, and culturally valuable Vietnamese products.
Vietnamese businesses bring quality consumer products to people
In addition to agricultural products, high-quality domestic consumer products also attracted attention at the Vietnamese Market in Thanh Oai Commune in 2025. Ms. Do Quynh Hoa, representative of Mai Vang Textile Production Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) said that the company specializes in producing fashion socks, sports socks and regular socks, with entirely domestic materials. Woven fibers are imported from factories in Ninh Binh, ensuring quality, safety, good absorbency and durability.

Mai Vang products have been distributed in supermarkets, sports clubs and fashion brands nationwide. According to Ms. Hoa, trade promotion programs such as the Vietnamese Market are opportunities for businesses to meet consumers directly, helping customers experience products created by Vietnamese manufacturers.
Currently, the market still has many fake products with cheap prices but low quality, easily causing itching or skin irritation. Meanwhile, Mai Vang socks use cotton and spandex fibers, ensuring safety, durability, and suitability for all subjects, including athletes. " Consumers today are prioritizing quality. The price may be a little higher than Chinese goods, but customers are willing to accept it for long-term benefits and health ," Ms. Hoa emphasized.
One of the company’s strengths is its clear quality control process. Each product has a QR code and ISO certification, making it easy for customers to check the origin, ingredients, and re-order. According to Ms. Hoa, 98% of customers return to buy again, with only a few still concerned about the price.
Ms. Hoa also affirmed that Vietnamese products from bedding to socks and clothes have achieved good quality, meeting long-term needs. “ Imported products are cheaper but not as durable. A good pair of socks will not cause foot odor, will not irritate the skin, will absorb sweat well and will last a long time, ” she said.
The company focuses on bringing products to supermarkets and sports clubs, where quality control and product origin are strictly managed. “Quality is the top priority, the price may be a little higher, but customers accept it for the long-term benefits and health safety,” Ms. Hoa shared.
Thanks to the trade fair and promotion programs of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Department of Industry and Trade, Mai Vang plans to expand its market to the suburbs and outskirts of Hanoi. Through these events, consumers can experience quality products, while businesses have the opportunity to promote domestic products and build brand reputation.
“Some customers initially just stood there watching, but when they tried the product, they bought it right away. Some people bought up to 10 pairs just because of the quality and good feeling when using it,” Ms. Hoa said happily when witnessing the positive feedback.
The 2025 Vietnamese Market has become an important bridge, helping small businesses bring regional specialties and quality Vietnamese consumer products closer to consumers in the suburbs of Hanoi. Products with clear origins, guaranteed quality and safety are gradually dominating people's choices. The event also reflects new consumer trends, when Vietnamese people care more about quality, origin and health safety than just choosing cheap products.
The market is a clear demonstration of the effort to bring quality Vietnamese products to people in the suburbs of Hanoi, contributing to local economic development, promoting trade and building smart consumer habits.
