Bustling Mid-Autumn Festival in the suburbs of Hanoi

On the evening of October 3, in the suburbs of Hanoi, thousands of teenagers and children enthusiastically participated in the "Full Moon Festival - Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2025" organized by the local government.

The bustling atmosphere with the colors of star lanterns, sparkling lanterns, along with many art performances, fun games, and Mid-Autumn Festival feasts brought excitement to the children. Mid-Autumn Festival is not only a useful playground, but also shows the care and concern of the whole society for the young generation of the Capital.

At Phuc Tho commune, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council Nguyen Doan Hoan and leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune attended the program.

The gala was also attended by representatives of school boards, party cell secretaries, village chiefs, a large number of people and especially children.

Right after the opening ceremony by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kieu Trong Sy commune, the children of Phuc Tho commune were immersed in the lion and dragon dances, art performances, magic shows and interacted with the character Ton Ngo Khong. At the end of the program, the commune leaders broke the cake and distributed candy to the children attending, leaving many good impressions.

In O Dien commune , the "Full Moon Festival" program was held right at Tan Hoi Secondary School, attracting hundreds of children and parents to participate. The most exciting activity was the competition and procession of five-fruit trays and star lanterns of 7 units: Ha Mo, Tan Hoi, Tan Lap, Hong Ha, Lien Ha, Lien Trung and Lien Hong, starting from Tan Hoi A Primary School to Tan Hoi Secondary School.

During the festival, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of O Dien Commune, Do Chi Hung, delivered the opening speech, read the President 's New Year's greetings to children and presented gifts from the city and locality to 25 children in special circumstances. The organizing committee also awarded prizes for the fruit tray competition and organized lion dances, circus performances, magic shows and performances.

From October 4 to 6, 2025 (ie August 13 to 15 of the lunar calendar), the People's Committee of O Dien commune directed villages, residential clusters, and residential groups to simultaneously organize the Mid-Autumn Festival in many diverse forms: Giving gifts to children, carrying lanterns, competing in fruit trays, organizing folk games, performing arts, creating a joyful atmosphere and connecting the community.

The performances by the children in the commune created a lively and exciting atmosphere.

In Hoai Duc commune, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organized the "Full Moon Festival Night" with the desire to bring a useful playground for teenagers and children in the area; demonstrating the attention of the Party, government, departments, branches, organizations and the whole society to the work of caring for, educating and protecting children - the bright buds of the locality and the country.

Speaking at the festival, Chairman of Hoai Duc Commune People's Committee Nguyen Huy Hoang emphasized that the Mid-Autumn Festival with its colorful lanterns, the bustling sound of lion dance drums, and sweet cakes not only brings joy, but also conveys the love and responsibility of the whole society towards teenagers and children.

Over the years, the Party Committee, government and people of Hoai Duc have always paid attention to the work of protecting, caring for and educating children, especially children in difficult circumstances through many activities: Social assistance, giving gifts, scholarships, bicycles, congenital heart surgery, rehabilitation...

The leaders of Hoai Duc commune affirmed that caring for and protecting children is not only a responsibility, but also a sentiment of the whole society. At the same time, they called on parents, teachers, departments, branches, unions, organizations, and individuals in the commune to continue to pay attention and create the best conditions for children to study, practice, and play in a complete, safe, and healthy environment, ensuring children's rights and comprehensive development...

At the "Full Moon Festival" there is a competition of Mid-Autumn Festival trays from villages and residential groups in the area, children participate in folk games, watch art performances, and enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival.

On this occasion, leaders of Hoai Duc commune also presented Mid-Autumn gifts to 20 disadvantaged children in the area.

In Bat Trang commune, the “Full Moon Festival” was held in the yard of Bat Trang Primary School. The children of the commune had the joy of celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, participating in performances, carrying star lanterns, playing folk games, breaking the cake - looking at the moon, and especially enjoying the taste of traditional moon cakes imbued with the love of their homeland.

At the ceremony, leaders of Bat Trang commune presented gifts to 10 students with difficult circumstances who overcame difficulties to study well, contributing to the goal of "No child in the area does not have a Mid-Autumn Festival".

In Nam Phu commune , Vice Chairman of Nam Phu Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Sung emphasized that Mid-Autumn Festival has long been a big festival for children, an opportunity for them to have fun, receive love and care from their families and the community. Caring for children, especially those in difficult circumstances and children who overcome difficulties to study well, is becoming more practical.

The work of protecting and caring for children has always received special attention from the commune, "prioritizing resources to complete goals for children", creating the best conditions for children to develop comprehensively in terms of physical, mental and intellectual aspects; considering this a strategic, long-term issue to improve the quality of human resources of the commune, the capital and the country.

The festival is an opportunity for us to send our trust and love to the teenagers and children in the commune, affirming the deep concern of the government and community for the comprehensive development of children, and calling for the cooperation of departments, agencies, organizations, schools, businesses and philanthropists in the cause of caring for, educating and protecting children.

On this occasion, Nam Phu commune presented 60 gifts to children in especially difficult circumstances (severe and extremely severe disabilities) and more than 1,000 gifts to all children in the area.

In Quang Bi commune, the commune organized the program "Full Moon Festival Night" in 2025 at Hop Dong Secondary School with the participation of many leaders, parents and nearly 1,000 children in the area.

The highlight of this year's Mid-Autumn Festival in Quang Bi is taking care of the spiritual life of children in difficult circumstances.

On September 30 and October 1, Quang Bi commune established 5 working groups to directly visit, encourage and give gifts to 16 children with severe disabilities in the villages. At the same time, the commune mobilized many resources, spending more than 257 million VND to take care of children: Giving 114 gifts to children in difficult circumstances with a total value of more than 144 million VND; 124 children in special circumstances received gifts worth 62 million VND according to the resolution of the City People's Council; preparing nearly 1,000 small gifts for children directly participating in the "Full Moon Festival"; at the same time giving 31 Mid-Autumn gift boxes to villages organizing on-site activities with a total cost of 51 million VND.

According to the leader of Quang Bi commune, the gifts, although not large in material terms, are full of love, care and responsibility that the whole community sends to the children, helping them have more joy, confidence and motivation to excel in their studies and life.

The cooperation and companionship of the entire political system, mass organizations, schools and people of Quang Bi commune have spread noble humanistic values, arousing the spirit of community responsibility in the work of protecting, caring for and educating children - affirming the important role of children in the local socio-economic development strategy.

At the festival, the children listened to the President's Mid-Autumn Festival greetings, had fun, enjoyed the feast, carried lanterns, enjoyed lion and dragon dance performances, gave gifts, scholarships, and bicycles to children in difficult circumstances...

The festival ended in a space filled with colorful star lanterns, the bustling sound of lion drums, Mid-Autumn Festival trays full of candies and fruits; the children's faces beamed with happiness as they broke the feast with their friends and carried lanterns under the moon - leaving in their hearts beautiful childhood memories, motivation to study, practice and strive to become good children, good students, "good children of Uncle Ho".

Within the framework of the program, organizations and unions of Soc Son commune presented 50 Mid-Autumn gifts to children in difficult circumstances and children with excellent academic achievements; at the same time, brought to the children an exciting festival with performances, drums, lion dances and a bustling Mid-Autumn festival. This is a practical activity, contributing to motivating and encouraging children to excel in their studies and life.

In addition, on the afternoon of October 2, the People's Committee of Soc Son commune presented 250 gifts to children, each worth from 800,000 VND to 1 million VND, including cash and candy, to disabled children and children in especially difficult circumstances in the commune.

At the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Commune People's Committee allocated the budget to give gifts to 163 children in special circumstances, with a total value of more than 80 million VND; and from the Commune Children's Support Fund, awarded 44 gifts, each worth 1 million VND (including gifts and cash) to children who have overcome difficulties to excel in their studies.

This is the affection and care of the commune leaders, praising the fighting spirit of teenagers and children in the area...

This year's "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" program aims to create a healthy and useful playground for children, contributing to the formation of personality, educating traditions, preserving national cultural identities, love for homeland, country, pride in the Vietnamese people and heroic homeland of Quoc Oai; strengthening the spirit of solidarity, training collective activity skills for children; encouraging poor children and children in especially difficult circumstances to rise up in life, develop in a safe and friendly social environment.
