Children in the capital are concerned about the "normalization of deviant behavior" of celebrities.

On November 1, the Hanoi City Youth Union and the Hanoi City Young Pioneers Council organized the 2025 Children's Forum with the themes: "Speaking good words - Doing good deeds - Behaving civilly" and "Building beautiful friendships, saying no to school violence".

Speaking at the forum, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Hanoi City Youth Union Council Dao Duc Viet said that the Forum aims to enhance moral and lifestyle education activities, creating positive changes in awareness, attitude, feelings and personal behavior for children in the capital.

The goal is to equip children with the necessary knowledge and skills in the family, school, society and especially in cyberspace, encouraging them to spread good words and good deeds. From these opinions, leaders at all levels will grasp the thoughts and aspirations of children and continue to improve mechanisms and policies in the work of caring for, protecting and educating children...

At the forum, representatives of 250 outstanding children from 126 communes and wards in the city boldly mentioned urgent issues in the modern school environment and the challenges of the 4.0 era:

Student Nguyen Khanh Linh (Ngo Quyen Secondary School) pointed out a worrying reality: The "normalization of deviant behavior" of celebrities (idols, "cyber gangsters") on social networks is causing young people to gradually lose the ability to distinguish right from wrong. She hopes that experts will orient solutions to limit such negative content.

Regarding AI and creativity, Nguyen Kim Thai Linh (Nam Tu Liem High Quality Secondary School) expressed concern about the risk of "over-dependence on AI" which could lead to loss of creativity and laziness in thinking.

Student Dang Kim Thien Kim (Le Ngoc Han Secondary School) asked a question about how children in the capital can both absorb the quintessence of the new era and preserve and promote national cultural identity.

In addition, students also want to access official career guidance information, avoid being harassed by harmful information on social networks; at the same time, they suggest that the city needs to have an investment and socialization plan to create more playgrounds, open libraries, and creative spaces for students, especially in suburban areas.

Faced with these issues, the Advisory Board and representatives of the City Youth Union have given specific directions: Regarding the use of AI, the Advisory Board affirms that students can use AI, but must consider it as a support tool, not a substitute. The important thing is to maintain independent and creative thinking.

Regarding online behavior, the Advisory Board representative recommended that students need to practice critical thinking and digital skills to know how to select information and avoid blind admiration. The city is also implementing digital skills education programs, "Safe Schools in Cyberspace" to guide students.

Students should seek information through official channels (Department of Education, Hanoi Youth Union), participate in career guidance programs directly at school, and practice skills to identify misinformation.

Currently, Hanoi is prioritizing budget investment, promoting socialization of education, encouraging “happy school” models, and utilizing public spaces (cultural houses, parks) to organize activities for students.

The 2025 Children's Forum once again affirms the important role of children's voices in the process of building Hanoi into a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" Capital by 2030.
