The Hanoi International Jazz Festival 2026 is a large-scale cultural and artistic event aimed at promoting the development of the cultural industry and affirming the capital city's position as a jazz center of the country.
The event was also organized to concretize Action Program No. 08-CTr/TU of the Hanoi City Party Committee on implementing Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture in the new period.

According to the plan, the festival, themed "Hanoi Jazz - Melodies Without Borders," is scheduled to take place from September 17th to 19th. The program will bring together 5 to 8 international jazz bands along with 3 to 5 representative domestic bands, promising to create a vibrant artistic exchange space between different cultures.
The organizers expect the series of events in the open spaces to attract between 1,000 and 4,000 spectators each night, including local residents, tourists, central government delegates, international ambassadors, and the media.

The highlight of the festival is its focus on building and developing the "Vietnamese Jazz" genre – a combination of contemporary jazz language with traditional national musical elements. Hanoi encourages creative experiments such as blending jazz with the zither, bamboo flute, or traditional art forms like Cheo and Cai Luong, while also incorporating electronic music to create a unique identity for Vietnamese jazz.
Besides the performances, the festival also features many thematic activities such as the "Jazz & Street" exhibition, the "Jazz Language in Traditional Music" workshop, the international seminar "Hanoi and Jazz," the "Jazz Jam Session" program, and the "Jazz - Beloved Winter" concert.

Through this event, Hanoi aims to concretize its roadmap for participating in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, while gradually building the "Hanoi International Jazz Festival" into a distinctive cultural industry product, contributing to promoting the image of a dynamic, modern capital city that is still rich in cultural traditions.
The festival also serves as a bridge to bring contemporary music closer to the public, expanding the audience for jazz, especially among young people. Through this, it contributes to improving spiritual life, shaping artistic aesthetics, and promoting the sustainable development of Hanoi's culture.
