Brought back to Vietnam 260 people who fell into the trap of 'easy work, high salary' abroad

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Vietnamese citizens be vigilant against invitations to go abroad for "easy work, high salary". Citizens need to carefully research the content, regime, and expected location of work to avoid falling into fraudulent "traps" and becoming illegal residents and workers abroad.

Citizens of many countries were rescued after a fraud crackdown on the Myanmar-Thailand border.

Regarding the case of a Vietnamese citizen violating immigration regulations and being detained in Myanmar, following the Government's instructions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security , Vietnamese representative agencies in Myanmar and Thailand, relevant domestic agencies and local authorities to complete the dossier, issue Short-Term Passports, carry out necessary procedures and complete exit procedures to bring citizens back to the country. As of April 29, 221 more Vietnamese citizens have returned home safely, bringing the total number of people brought back after 2 batches to 260.

The citizens were repatriated on three flights from Bangkok (Thailand) to Hanoi on April 28 and 29. The Consular Department and the Immigration Department have prepared plans and coordinated to receive and hand over the citizens to their families and relevant localities. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently working actively with relevant countries, continuing to verify the identities to bring the remaining citizens home as soon as possible.
