According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Berlin, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on June 5 that Germany might reconsider its stance on the possibility of transferring modern Western fighter jets to Ukraine, but rejected the possibility of transferring Taurus cruise missiles to the country in the near future.

Previously, Ukraine had officially requested that Germany supply it with Taurus cruise missiles. In an interview with the German media outlet DW on June 5th while visiting Indonesia, regarding the possibility of supplying fighter jets to Ukraine, Mr. Pistorius said: “Currently, we are in a phase of reconsideration and weighing what is possible, what we want and can do. And I think we will decide on this within the next two weeks.”
The Taurus missile is capable of penetrating dense air defense networks to destroy targets on the ground or underground. Its greatest advantage is its ability to be launched from outside the enemy's air defense range. Equipped with a Williams P8300-15 turbofan engine, the Taurus has a maximum speed of 0.95 Mach (nearly 1000 km/h), a maximum range of up to 500 km, but with higher accuracy within a range of 350 km.
