According to a VNA correspondent in Berlin, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on June 5 that Germany may reconsider its stance on the possibility of transferring modern Western fighter jets to Ukraine but rejected the possibility of transferring Taurus cruise missiles to the country in the near future.

Previously, Ukraine had officially requested Germany to supply Taurus cruise missiles to the country. In an interview with the German media group DW on June 5 while visiting Indonesia, regarding the possibility of supplying fighter jets to Ukraine, Mr. Pistorius said: "Currently, we are in the stage of rethinking and considering what is possible, what we want and can do. And I think we will decide on this within the next 2 weeks."
The Taurus missile is capable of penetrating dense air defenses to destroy targets on the ground or underground. The biggest advantage of this type of missile is that it can be launched beyond the range of enemy air defenses. The Taurus is equipped with a Williams P8300-15 turbofan engine with a maximum speed of 0.95 Mach (nearly 1000km/h), a maximum range of up to 500km, but within a range of 350km it has higher accuracy.
