Railway transports free goods to support people in flood-hit areas

Vietnam Railways Corporation has just launched a free transport of goods to people in flood-affected areas.

Goods to support people in flood-affected areas will be transported to Giap Bat and Hanoi stations.

Accordingly, the Sugar Corporation will receive and transport goods from organizations and individuals free of charge through the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Associations of provinces and centrally-run cities. This activity aims to ensure that goods are transported smoothly, promptly and safely to people in disaster-hit areas.

The work of receiving and unloading goods is organized at qualified terminal stations on the national railway network such as: Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Da Nang , Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong... Goods will be transported to Giap Bat station and Hanoi station.

The free shipping program will be implemented from October 10 until further notice. Vietnam Railways Corporation requests agencies, organizations and localities to closely coordinate in receiving, loading and distributing goods, in order to provide timely support to people in flood-affected areas.

Vietnam Railways Corporation also requested organizations and individuals to contact the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities for specific instructions on procedures for receiving and sending goods to support people in flood-affected areas.
