Railways are transporting goods free of charge to support people in flood-affected areas.

Vietnam Railways Corporation has just launched a free transportation service for goods sent to people in areas affected by storms and floods.

Goods to support people in flood-affected areas will be transported to Giap Bat and Hanoi railway stations.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Sugar Corporation will receive and transport goods free of charge from organizations and individuals through the People's Committees, the Fatherland Front , and the Red Cross of provinces and centrally-administered cities. This activity aims to ensure that goods are transported smoothly, promptly, and safely to people in disaster-stricken areas.

Cargo receiving and unloading operations are organized at qualified main stations on the national railway network such as: Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Da Nang , Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong… Goods will then be transported to Giap Bat and Hanoi stations.

The free transportation program will be implemented from October 10th until further notice. Vietnam Railways Corporation requests that agencies, organizations, and localities closely coordinate in the reception, loading, unloading, and distribution of goods to provide timely support to people in flood-affected areas.

Vietnam Railways Corporation also requested that organizations and individuals contact the People's Committees, the Fatherland Front, and the Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities for specific guidance on procedures for receiving and sending goods to support people in flood-affected areas.
