We live in an age where behavior that would have been considered scandalous in the past has become scandalous thanks to social media. The movie Don't Worry Darling, which just hit theaters, is a clear example of this.

Don't Worry Darling (Vietnamese title: Em yêu không đánh con ) is directed by Olivia Wilde. While making this second film, Olivia Wilde - a talented female film director - began a romantic relationship with pop star Harry Styles. A female director having a romantic relationship with a leading actor has never happened in the history of cinema.
There's also the issue of the lead actor. Originally cast as Shia LaBeouf, he was replaced by Harry Styles. But how and why that happened remains a matter of debate.
Wilde claimed it was her decision to let LaBeouf go. She reiterated this on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert , saying that the chemistry between LaBeouf and Florence Pugh, who played the female lead, was not successful. However, LaBeouf claimed it was his decision to leave the film. A leaked phone conversation in which Wilde begged LaBeouf to stay, supporting his role, but then the opposite happened. This kind of directorial change of heart is also unprecedented in film history.
Of course, the most important is the scandal of Florence Pugh not promoting Don't Worry Darling. On September 23, the day the film premiered, the actress finally posted on Instagram. When Don't Worry Darling premiered at the Venice Film Festival three weeks ago, all the global media focused on her appearance on the red carpet at the premiere but not attending the film's press conference. That was really unusual.

Florence Pugh, apparently, has a problem with Olivia Wilde. Why? Rumors have it that Pugh is angry with Wilde for “disappearing” from the set with Harry for a long time. There was a “heavy argument” between Olivia Wilde, 38, and Florence Pugh, 26, in January 2021. Vulture reported that Pugh was reportedly upset with Wilde’s “frequent, unexplained absences.” Pugh accused the director, whom Harry Styles is dating, of constantly disappearing from the set, which affected the film crew.
The “feud” between Wilde and Pugh seems to have more to do with what happened with LaBeouf. That said, many people who work on films together end up hating each other, and they’re willing to put their thoughts out there.
But the fact is, the film is on track to make $21 million in its opening weekend. Whatever issues arose with Shia LaBeouf’s casting, the way they resolved the conflict turned out to be Olivia Wilde’s biggest career gift. Instead of LaBeouf, the director got Harry Styles.
“Rumors about personal conflicts within the crew, between the director and the main actor on set, are completely baseless,” said Miri Yoon, producer of Don't Worry Darling.
