On April 27, Liverpool became the 2024/25 Premier League champions after a convincing 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in round 34. In this match, Endo came off the bench in the 76th minute to replace Alexander-Arnold, when the game was already decided. The Japanese midfielder played solidly in midfield and helped Liverpool keep a clean sheet.
The Premier League homepage statistics show that Endo is the 4th Japanese player to win the Premier League, after Shinji Kagawa (MU, 2012/13 season), Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City, 2015/16) and Takumi Minamino (Liverpool, 2019/20).
The 2024/25 Premier League is also Endo's second title in Liverpool's shirt, after the 2023/24 League Cup. This season, the Japanese midfielder has played 29 matches in all competitions for "The Kop". He mainly plays as a strategic reserve in coach Arne Slot's squad.
Before coming to Liverpool, Endo had not won any titles in Europe. In 5 years playing for Sint-Truiden (Belgium) and Stuttgart (Germany), the Japanese national team captain had not lifted a trophy once.
Bild said Endo had received strong interest from Eintracht Frankfurt. If they secure a place in next season's Champions League, the Bundesliga side could make a move to sign Endo from Liverpool.
Endo's contract with Liverpool runs until 2027. The two sides have yet to agree on an extension. Liverpool rejected an £11.8m bid for Endo from Marseille last summer.
