Arsenal fans upset about Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres started in Arsenal's 2-3 friendly loss to Villarreal on the morning of August 7, but his performance left fans worried.

Arsenal fans believe that the current style of play does not suit Gyokeres.

Gyokeres was expected to be the solution to the number 9 problem that haunted the Gunners for many seasons. However, at home at Emirates Stadium, the Swedish striker was almost invisible during the 62 minutes he was present.

Although coach Arteta commented positively: "He shows determination and confidence. I have no doubt that Gyokeres will be ready when the season starts", fans gave many completely opposite opinions.

On social network X (Twitter), Arsenal fans unanimously pointed out a big problem. There, the current tactical system does not promote Gyokeres' strengths.

One account was upset: "He makes great runs but no one passes. It's like the team's play is stifled and doesn't allow for crosses." A fan sarcastically said: "I'm laughing. Gyokeres doesn't get the ball on the counter-attack, but is constantly fed crosses while he's not a good header."

Another person commented bitterly: "35 minutes have passed and Gyokeres has only touched the ball less than 3 times. Even if we buy Eze, Leao or Rodrygo, it won't change anything, the problem lies with the coach." "I'm worried about Gyokeres," another fan concluded.

His teammates not providing enough of the ball or not playing in the right way made the Swedish star feel lost. Many fans asked Arteta to adjust his tactics, otherwise the blockbuster contract would become a big disappointment.

Arsenal will open the new season with a trip to Old Trafford to face MU on August 17.
