BYD has just launched the Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) Tai 7 plug-in hybrid off-road SUV and started delivering the first cars to customers in China. This SUV is positioned in the high-end segment, with 4 versions: RWD Pro, RWD Max, AWD Max and AWD Ultra. Customers can choose from 7 exterior paint colors, including 2 tones of green, silver, yellow, blue, black and gray. FCB Tai 7 has overall dimensions of Length x Width x Height of 4,999 x 1,995 x 1,865mm, wheelbase of 2,920mm. The car has an approach angle of 24°, a departure angle of 25° and the ability to wade through water up to 600mm.
The chassis structure includes a double wishbone front suspension and a 5-point multi-link rear suspension, combined with the DiSus-C intelligent body control system and TSC technology (tire stability control). The notable point of this system is that when the car has a flat tire, the system can lift the damaged wheel, allowing the car to continue running at a speed of 80km/h for a distance of up to 30km. The cabin is configured with 5 seats by default, with a maximum luggage compartment capacity of 1,880L when the rear seats are folded. In addition, the car has up to 45 storage compartments spread throughout the cabin. The interior has 3 color options: gray, orange and blue. The technological highlights inside the cockpit are 7 screens including: 15.6-inch central screen, 12.3-inch digital clock cluster, 26-inch virtual reality HUD, 2 air-conditioning screens and 2 13-inch BYD Pad screens for the rear seats.
The car is also equipped with a 20-speaker sound system, a 4.5L central refrigerator (temperature from -6°C to 50°C), wireless charging and multi-color interior ambient lighting. The FCB Tai 7 uses a plug-in hybrid system that combines a 154-horsepower 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor. Rear-wheel drive versions will be equipped with a 200kW electric motor, a 26.6kWh or 35.6kWh Blade battery for a pure electric range of 135-200km. The AWD version is equipped with an additional 215 horsepower front electric motor, 35.6kWh battery for a range of 190km. The car has a total operating range of up to 1,300km, acceleration from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds and fuel consumption of 4.9L/100km (NEDC). The high-end AWD Ultra version is equipped with the advanced driver assistance system “God's Eye” B (DiPilot 300) with roof-mounted lidar and Nvidia Orin-X chip, supporting more than 30 safety features: blind spot warning, NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) both on the highway and in the city, and smart parking assistance.
In particular, users can also choose to have a DJI-made drone system integrated on the car's roof to automatically record videos. Lower versions are equipped with the "God's Eye" C package, which supports NOA on the highway and is expected to expand to urban NOA in the future. The price of BYD Fang Cheng Bao Tai 7 in the Chinese market for 4 versions: RWD Pro, RWD Max, AWD Max and AWD Ultra comes with prices from 179,800 - 219,800 yuan (about 666 - 814 million VND).
