At the invitation of the Ministry of Science and Technology , on September 25-26, Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), will pay a working visit to Vietnam. The focus of this visit is the meeting between the Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Director General of WIPO.

Accordingly, the two sides will discuss world trends in intellectual property and innovation, major orientations of the Ministry of Science and Technology on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and discuss a number of proposals to promote intellectual property and innovation activities in Vietnam in the coming time.
During the visit, the WIPO Director General also attended the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2025 Introduction Workshop. The workshop will provide the latest information on the GII 2025 Report and Vietnam's results, methodological adjustments, the significance of the index, innovation trends and Vietnam's innovation prospects in the coming years.
Mr. Daren Tang will work with leaders and staff of the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) and exchange and discuss with the young generation of Vietnam at the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology with the topic: " WIPO and the journey of creating an intellectual property ecosystem to promote innovation for the young generation of Vietnam".
In addition, within the framework of the visit, the WIPO Director General will have a courtesy meeting with Government leaders; work with Viettel Group, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to promote bilateral cooperation on intellectual property with ministries in particular and cooperative relations with Vietnam in general.
