According to Carscoops , the Italian sports car manufacturer has just filed a series of applications for new trade names, and these names open up the possibility of convertible versions, pure racing versions of the Ferrari F80, alongside a GTO variant based on the 12Cilindri, or another version of the 296 Challenge Stradale.
This application has been submitted to the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM). Carscoops notes that not every registered name will become a commercial vehicle, but some names are highly credible and deserve the community's anticipation.
First, the flagship F80 hypercar line may be developed into a "family" of three members. The names F80 Targa and F80 Roadster hint at the successor generation to the LaFerrari Aperta and the previous F50, while F80XX and FXX80 suggest that Ferrari is still open to developing a purely racing variant costing at least millions of dollars.
The 12Cilindri grandtourer line, already available in Coupe and Spider body styles, has been further expanded by Ferrari with the registration of the names 12Cilindri MM, 12Cilindri MM Aperta, and 12Cilindri GTO.
The suffix MM in Ferrari's name is an abbreviation reminiscent of the Mille Miglia race in Italy, while the suffix Aperta represents a convertible model. The GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato) designation is quite clear semantically and could be the name of a model that continues the legacy of the 599 GTO, F12 tdf, and 812 Competizione using a V12 engine, while also paying homage to the legendary 250 GTO.

An entry-level model with a mid-engine setup is also on Ferrari's potential list. The Italian supercar manufacturer has registered the names 296 Challenge Stradale, 296 CS, and 296 Challenge Evo, subtly suggesting new variants for both street and track use.
The Challenge Stradale name will revive the iconic designation previously used by the hardcore version of the Ferrari 360 in the 2000s, paving the way for the later 430 Scuderia, 458 Speciale, and 488 Pista, with aerodynamic, chassis, and performance upgrades compared to the base supercars. As for the 296 Challenge Evo, this is most likely an upgraded version of the racing variant that debuted in late 2023.
