Semicon Da Nang 2024 (Semicon Da Nang 2024) will be held on August 29 and 30 at Ariyana International Convention Palace, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang.
Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City shared: "Da Nang possesses strengths with highly qualified human resources with systematic training, synchronous technical infrastructure and convenient transportation, especially with the attention of Government leaders and the determination of local authorities in creating a legal corridor and preferential mechanisms to support specific investments in the development of the semiconductor industry".
“With the goal of “taking the lead and going fast” in developing human resources for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam, Da Nang is looking forward to the contributions of investors, businesses and experts in planning and orienting the development of the semiconductor industry, thereby establishing an open investment environment with appropriate support mechanisms and investment incentives, creating fast and effective investment opportunities for investors in this field,” Mr. Chinh affirmed.
With the commitment to accompany Da Nang City to become a "territory" of semiconductor industry in Vietnam and the region, at the event, FPT IS signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Department of Information and Communications, Da Nang City. The cooperation goal is to exploit the potential and advantages of Da Nang City in the field of semiconductor microchips, jointly build initiatives and solutions in training high-quality human resources, high technology, thereby attracting effective investment in the city.
Specifically, FPT IS will contribute and accompany Da Nang in training human resources, providing scholarships and internship opportunities for students from universities in Da Nang city; establishing the FPT IS Research and Development Center (focusing on making information technology products, researching semiconductor technology and artificial intelligence) at Da Nang City's Software Park No. 2, thereby promoting the development of technology fields in general and focusing on AI and semiconductor chips in particular throughout the city.
At the event, FPT IS leaders affirmed their commitment: “With experience in designing Make in Vietnam – Made by FPT chips, combined with the available team of experts at the R&D center in Da Nang, FPT IS will accompany the city to realize the goal of becoming one of the three largest semiconductor centers in Vietnam”.
In the semiconductor chip field, FPT is the first Vietnamese company to design commercial chips, with orders for 70 million chips for Japan, Korea, Taiwan (China)... and cooperates with many organizations and companies worldwide.
FPT has nearly 20 years of experience in many projects implemented in Da Nang City. Specifically, FPT built the FPT Complex IT park, approved by the Prime Minister.
Along with that, FPT cooperated in comprehensive digital transformation with Da Nang. The two sides have cooperated in digital transformation and built a smart city in a comprehensive and comprehensive manner in many fields including transportation, education - training, resources - environment, health, agriculture, industry and trade, and communications. In 2023, FPT IS established an R&D Center in Da Nang city.
