On the morning of August 20, Mr. Dang Huu Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuy Xuan Ward ( Hue City), said that he had just received and handed over a rare white pheasant to Bach Ma National Park for care and conservation.
Previously, on the afternoon of August 19, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Loc (residing in Cu Chanh 1 residential group, Thuy Xuan ward, Hue city) discovered a white pheasant flying into his coffee shop in the Thuy Tien lake area. Mr. Loc tried to catch this white pheasant and reported it to the ward People's Committee.
After identifying this as a rare white pheasant, Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee immediately notified the forest rangers to receive and bring the chicken to Bach Ma National Park.
By the evening of the same day, the Center for Rescue and Development of Organisms of Bach Ma National Park had received it.
Here the white pheasant receives special care, then is brought to the park's white pheasant conservation area.
Once the white pheasant's health is stable, it will be released back into the natural forest area here.
"The white pheasant weighed about 1kg and was in normal condition. The fact that people discovered it and proactively handed it over shows their sense of responsibility in protecting wildlife and contributing to preserving biodiversity in Hue City," said Mr. Dang Huu Hai.
It is known that Bach Ma National Park is the place where white pheasants are successfully bred naturally, then released into the park's forest area to preserve and increase biodiversity in the Truong Son forest area.
