Nearly 100 billiard players compete in the 2025 Mekong Delta press billiards tournament

Nearly 100 players who are journalists, reporters, editors, and collaborators in the Mekong Delta region participated in the billiards tournament to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

On June 21, the Steering Committee for the establishment of the Mekong Delta Press Club coordinated with the Representative Office of Vietnam Family Magazine in Can Tho City to organize the Mekong Delta Press Billiards Tournament - Press Billiards 100, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

The tournament gathered nearly 100 players who are journalists, reporters, editors, collaborators from press agencies operating in the Mekong Delta region, along with sponsors competing in the spirit of solidarity and professional sports . The special feature of the tournament is the free carom doubles competition format, with a random draw between the two press agencies, creating both fairness and surprise and excitement for each match.

According to the organizers, the spirit of fair play is more important than the results of the tournament. This is a meeting place for media units, helping to strengthen relationships, creating conditions for sharing professional experiences and supporting each other at work. The tournament also aims to promote the movement of sports training in the media industry, which is often under high pressure, to improve the health, spirit and endurance of journalists.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, sent his congratulations to the athletes on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. According to Mr. Tuan, the tournament is not only an opportunity for journalists to express their passion for sports, but also a place for everyone to share laughter and joy after stressful working hours.

After a day of competition, the winners of the awards were announced. Accordingly, the first prize went to the pair Nguyen Minh Thao ( Can Tho Newspaper) and Nguyen Minh Sang (sponsor); the second prize went to the pair Tran Ngoc Thien (Vietnam News Agency in Can Tho City) and Dinh Thien Chi (VTV Can Tho), the third prize went to the pair Huynh Ngoc Minh Tuan ( Health and Environment Magazine) and Nguyen Duc Khanh ( Today's Rural Newspaper).
