Underground flooded 2m deep, isolating hundreds of households

At 5:00 a.m. on September 23, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain, the underground overflow of Mo Nang 2 village (Ia Pa commune, Gia Lai province) was flooded, isolating 341 households in the village.

The underground overflow of Mo Nang 2 village was flooded on the morning of September 23.

At the scene, the flooded tunnel was about 2 meters deep and 100 meters long. The water rose high and flowed rapidly from upstream. People gathered at both ends of the tunnel, not daring to cross.

That same morning, leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ia Pa commune were present at the scene to direct the response and ensure safety. The commune mobilized forces to block both ends, not allowing people to pass through.

According to Mr. Le Tien Manh, Chairman of Ia Pa Commune People's Committee, the locality has prepared food, if people need it, they will provide enough during the flood. In September, Mo Nang 2 spillway was flooded 3 times, isolating the villagers. The longest isolation lasted 2 days.
