100 images and documents at the exhibition "Southern Resistance - Radiant Vietnamese Spirit"

On September 23, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a photo exhibition "Southern Resistance - Radiant Vietnamese Spirit" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Southern Resistance Day (September 23, 1945 - September 23, 2025) at Lam Son Park, Saigon Ward.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy reviewed the heroic history of the South in the resistance war against French colonialism. 80 years ago, the army and people of the South stood up to fight the enemy, although with rudimentary weapons, but with an iron will, they created many resounding victories.

President Ho Chi Minh also awarded the noble title "Citadel of the Fatherland" as a recognition of the indomitable spirit of the people of the South.

The 80th anniversary of the Southern Resistance Day is not only an occasion to pay tribute to the generations of fathers and grandfathers who sacrificed for independence and freedom, but also a reminder for today's generation to continue to promote that spirit, arouse the desire to develop, integrate and contribute to the cause of national construction.

“Southern Resistance - Radiant Vietnamese Spirit” is not only a tribute to history but also a testament to the indomitable spirit and aspiration for independence and freedom of the Southern people in the long-term resistance war.

Here, more than 100 photos and documents are displayed, recreating the heroic spirit of the army and people of Saigon - Southern Vietnam in the early days of the resistance war. These photos and documents also affirm the spirit of great national unity, contributing to the Great Victory of Spring 1975.

The exhibition not only reflects the glorious history of the resistance war but also demonstrates the connection between the past and the present. The exhibition also helps to spread the spirit of the “Citadel of the Fatherland” in the context of Ho Chi Minh City and the South continuing to develop strongly, contributing to the cause of innovation and international integration.

At Dong Khoi Street, in front of the Department of Culture and Sports and opposite Chi Lang Park, an exhibition with two themes took place: "Ho Chi Minh City - a super urban area reaching international standards" and "Ho Chi Minh City builds a streamlined, efficient and effective government".

More than 120 images on display here reflect the city's remarkable development, thereby emphasizing the important role of Ho Chi Minh City in socio -economic development, in the effort to become a financial, logistics and innovation center in the region and the world.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until October 5, 2025.
