Nearly 2.2 trillion VND to build Tra Khuc 1 bridge.

On August 9th, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province approved the Tra Khuc 1 bridge project with a total investment of 2,199 billion VND.

The design for the project was selected by Quang Ngai province through a nationwide architectural design competition.

Accordingly, the Tra Khuc 1 bridge, located in Nghia Lo and Truong Quang Trong wards, is being built as a Group B project with a total investment of 2,199 billion VND from the provincial budget, of which construction costs account for over 1,836 billion VND; the project is scheduled for completion between 2025 and 2027.

The Tra Khuc 1 Bridge project is managed by the Quang Ngai Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation Works.

This is a special-grade structure, designed using steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed reinforced concrete.

The bridge is over 577m long, of which the main bridge (the suspension bridge section) is approximately 522m long, 28m wide, and designed to withstand a load of HL 93.

The bridge approach road is designed to ensure it serves as a primary thoroughfare with a speed limit of 60 km/h. The northern approach road is 28m wide, connecting to the roundabout at the intersection of Tran Van Tra - Hoang Sa - Nguyen Van Linh - Te Hanh extended roads; the southern approach road is 28-44m wide, connecting to the roundabout at Quang Trung - Ba Trieu - Hai Ba Trung roads (Nghia Lo ward).

At the intersection with Ton Duc Thang Street, an underpass will be constructed, and traffic will be controlled by painted lines and signs as per regulations.

The Ton Duc Thang underpass has a width of 11.5m (including 0.5m tunnel walls on each side); a clearance of 3.5m; and a reinforced concrete structure.

The investment in the Tra Khuc 1 bridge project aims to gradually complete the synchronized transportation network in the province in accordance with the approved plan, improve transportation capacity, and connect the northern gateway to the urban center of Quang Ngai province via both directions along the Tra Khuc River.
