Nearly 57 billion VND to support students in border and island areas

Many organizations and individuals have pledged to continue accompanying the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund to support students in border and island areas in the coming time.


On December 25, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Club for Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa held a press conference to inform about the activities of the past year. Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President, Chairwoman of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, said that in 2024, despite the very difficult economic situation, businesses and philanthropists will always stand side by side and accompany Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, with a total mobilized amount of nearly 57 billion VND (including gifts, cash and project support).

"Over the past year, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has directly awarded more than 5,000 Vu A Dinh scholarships to ethnic minority and island students across the country; in-depth investment projects such as "Nurturing the Future", "Fostering Dreams", "Opening the Way to the Future", "Lighting the Future", "Supporting Students", continue to receive support from organizations, individuals and businesses", said Ms. Truong My Hoa.

In 2024, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Club had many outstanding activities, creating practical effects in the community. Specifically, organizing a trip to visit the heroic homeland of Vu A Dinh, awarding scholarships to students in Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province, coordinating with Thieu Nien Tien Phong and Nhi Dong Newspapers to organize a football tournament for ethnic minority students; organizing a working delegation to visit soldiers and people on Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform; visiting and wishing Tet to officers and soldiers on Con Co and Ly Son islands in Naval Region 3; visiting soldiers and people on the Southwest islands such as Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi, Tho Chu, Nam Du and Con Dao; organizing the program "15-year Imprint of Vu A Dinh Award - Honoring the flowers of the village"; organizing the program "Lighting up dreams" to summarize 15 years of implementing in-depth investment projects.

This new school year, schools under the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund's "Nurturing the Future" project continue to receive scholarships for 43 students to study at the school, bringing the total number of students benefiting from this project's scholarships to 665; the "Wings of Dreams" project grants scholarships to 16 students, bringing the total number of students benefiting from this project's scholarships to 529; the "Student Support" project grants scholarships to 65, bringing the total number of students benefiting from this project's scholarships to 445; The project "Lighting up the future" presented nearly 4,000 Tet gifts, built 13 gratitude houses and comrade houses for policy beneficiaries, naval and border officers and soldiers, built 3 boarding classrooms for Sa Tong kindergarten in Muong Cha district, Dien Bien province, built a roof for a school on Da Tay island, equipped 4 schools in Lao Cai affected by storm Yagi; awarded Vu A Dinh prizes to 18 groups and 21 individuals with outstanding achievements in the fields of science, study, sports, culture, and many initiatives and contributions to the construction and development of villages, homeland and country.
