Nearly 99,000 people received automatic personal income tax refunds.

From the launch of the automated personal income tax refund application (April 3rd) to April 16th, the system has processed 98,721 tax refund applications totaling 489.28 billion VND.

Taxpayers are encouraged to use the "Suggested Personal Income Tax Return Form" and link and register their bank account on eTax Mobile to receive tax refunds quickly. The system will automatically classify valid applications and monitor and recover tax refunds if fraud is detected.

Certain conditions must be met for a personal income tax refund to be automatically processed: the taxpayer's declared information must match the consolidated settlement information of the paying agencies that have been declared to the tax authorities.

The paying agency has paid the personal income tax on behalf of the taxpayer. All paying agencies of the taxpayer have no outstanding debts during the refund request period.

In addition, the bank account number must match (the account number that the banking system has sent to the tax authority, and the taxpayer has linked their bank account on eTax Mobile). The individual must have completed their personal income tax finalization obligations for previous periods.

Another important condition is that the personal income tax return must not be accompanied by documentation for tax reduction due to natural disasters, fires, or serious illnesses.

If taxpayers encounter any difficulties, they should contact the nearest tax authority; call or email the list of tax support officers at the 20 regional tax offices, which is posted on the Tax Department's website and on the websites of the regional tax offices.

In the first three months of 2025, the cumulative budget revenue of the tax sector reached 668,313 billion VND, equivalent to 38.9% of the projected target and 136.3% compared to the same period last year.

56 out of 63 localities saw revenue growth compared to the same period in 2024; 7 out of 63 localities had lower revenue than the same period in 2024, including: Bac Kan, Quang Ngai, An Giang , Tra Vinh, Ha Giang, Long An, and Thanh Hoa.
