One weekend morning, the sounds of hoes and shovels echoed along the rural road in Hamlet 7. Some were shoveling stones to fill potholes, others clearing bushes along the roadside, and still others gathering grass and garbage. Ms. Tuyen nimbly joined in, sometimes pointing out areas needing repair, other times encouraging the young people to finish their unfinished tasks. For the local people, this scene has become familiar. Since 2025, on her days off, Ms. Tuyen has joined a group of young people in cleaning and maintaining the rural landscape, keeping it bright, green, clean, and beautiful.

Hamlet 7 currently has 540 households and over 2,000 residents. As a densely populated area, maintaining security and order, and managing youth, is always a priority for the local authorities. Given the reality that some young people lack stable employment, tend to gather in groups, and lack a healthy environment for social activities, Ms. Tuyen proactively approached and encouraged them to participate in beneficial activities. Her approach is not focused on formalities. She visited each house to meet with them, understand their circumstances, and discuss with parents to coordinate their education . Some young people felt insecure, some had made mistakes in the past, and some were hesitant to interact, but with sincerity and patience, she gradually helped them open up and change their thinking. Ms. Tuyen said: “To motivate young people, you must first be close to them, treating them like family. When they make progress, you encourage them promptly; when they show signs of misconduct, you gently remind them. Thanks to this, many young people gradually abandoned their habit of gathering in groups and learned to care more about others.”
From just a few initial participants, the "Useful Youth Volunteer" model in Hamlet 7 has grown to include over 20 local and neighboring youths. During their days off, they work together to repair roads, clear bushes, clean up the environment, and assist with various tasks in the hamlet. As a result, the roads are clearer, making travel easier for residents. Many young people have found a positive environment for self-improvement, learning to live responsibly towards themselves and the community.
TVHA (18 years old), residing in Hamlet 7, is one of the young people in the area who had previously undergone drug rehabilitation. Thanks to the care, closeness, and encouragement of Ms. Tuyen, A gradually stabilized his life and confidently reintegrated into the community. While helping others repair roads and clear bushes, A confided: "Seeing people travel safely makes me even more enthusiastic and I'm always ready to participate whenever Ms. Tuyen asks me to."
Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of Hamlet 7, Tran Van Tri, commented: “Comrade Tuyen is an exemplary Party member, always at the forefront of assigned tasks. Thanks to skillfully mobilizing social resources, combined with local support and the voluntary spirit of young people, the road repair and bush clearing activities are regularly maintained by Comrade Tuyen, in accordance with the actual conditions.”
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tan Dau, Deputy Head of the Giong Rieng Commune Police, said that Ms. Tuyen is one of the active members contributing to maintaining the effectiveness of the "Useful Volunteer Youth" model in the commune. During the implementation of the model, they encountered many difficulties due to the diverse ages and personalities of the young people, with some not yet getting along. To maintain the activity, Ms. Tuyen and the Security and Order Team flexibly divided the group into small teams, assigning suitable tasks so that the young people gradually bonded and supported each other to progress. Mr. Le Quang Khai (67 years old), residing in Hamlet 7, saw that the road was cleaner and more beautiful thanks to the young people's efforts. He hopes that Ms. Tuyen's approach will continue to be maintained and spread to many other localities.
The story from Hamlet 7 shows that reforming grassroots mass mobilization work first and foremost means reforming the methods of propaganda and mobilization; ensuring that resolutions and tasks are put into practice through concrete actions of each cadre and Party member. When Party members are exemplary and their words match their actions, the people will trust them, young people will follow them, and the movement will spread.
Through small acts in everyday life, Ms. Tuyen has contributed to building great trust among the people. If such exemplary individuals continue to spread, the "Skilled People's Mobilization" emulation movement will become even more profound, contributing to building a developed and compassionate An Giang .
