The new concert series coming to Singapore in 2024 is an attractive tourism product.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said that the tourism industry in Singapore will see an impressive recovery in 2023. Singapore recorded 13.6 million international visitors, equivalent to about 71% of pre-pandemic levels, with estimated tourism revenue of SGD 24.5 to 26 billion.

This far exceeds STB's previous forecast of S$18 billion to S$21 billion, equivalent to about 88% to 94% of Singapore's tourism revenue in 2019.

According to the agency, key markets all saw significant increases, with Indonesia (2.3 million), China (1.4 million) and Malaysia (1.1 million) leading the way.

Vietnam contributed nearly 459,000 tourist arrivals to the island nation and is also one of Singapore's top 10 tourist markets.

This upbeat trend is driven by strong growth in the hotel and cruise industry, as well as the addition of new experiences and attractions combined with the growth of the MICE tourism segment, thereby contributing to the recovery momentum for 2024.

The hotel industry recorded positive growth as average room rate and revenue per room both exceeded 2019 statistics, partly thanks to the opening of new accommodation facilities.

In addition, Singapore's travel experience is increasingly enriched with many new attractions and experiences including pioneering discovery tours and virtual reality experiences.

In 2024, STB expects tourism revenue to continue to grow steadily thanks to the upgrade of the aviation network and strategic visa policies. Accordingly, Singapore is expected to welcome 15 to 16 million visitors and achieve an estimated tourism revenue of SGD 26 to 27.5 billion.

Singapore continues to add a host of world- class amenities and facilities to further attract tourism to the island nation, such as the new Conrad Singapore Orchard hotel, plans to add Tower 4 to Marina Bay Sands, and many other developments.

The new concert series landing in Singapore is also a key product attracting international tourists with IU's "HER" world tour in April, Bruno Mars' Live Concert 2024, CNBLUE's first tour in Asia in 7 years.

Most recently this March, American singer Taylor Swift's only show in Southeast Asia is causing a stir in the airline ticket market as well as accommodation facilities in Singapore.
